Primarily play franchise mode, is it worth switching over to 19 or keep going with 18 and wait for 19 to go on sale? I bought 18 when it was down to like 25 bucks around xmas I think.

I have not read the other replies so here is my take. I own both the Xone / PS4 and I bought it for both. Yeah I know. LoL. I think I like it way better this year on the PS4 and yes for Franchise it's a buy now.
1 Fog Of War - As you should not know about players before you scout them. Awesome
2 Custom roster Franchise Draft. 32 Team. That was the nail for me
3 Game is tighter. Perfect no... Better yes.
As for why I bought both,. No clue besides I own like 90% of every hockey game made for every system. LoL. Have to collect something right....

The game is a major improvement from last year......still plenty to improve on, but the skating and gameplay feels much improved
The game is not in the class of MLB The Show or NBA 2K, but this year is a big step in the right directionComment

Played a game and wasn't overly thrilled with the new changes, then found a good slider set and am having a lot more fun with it. Is gameplay better than 18? Not a tonne, but they have fixed up some of the issues, and the tuner that was released yesterday looks like it should take it up another notch.
Truly though, custom rosters for 32 team expansion saved the day for me. I loved expansion in 18, and it got me through the first few months before a solid roster was released. This year? I'll probably stick with it long term. Fog of war adds another element that I didn't think would be a big deal, but it's actually quite enjoyable.
Saw somewhere that a reviewer had given this 8.9/10 which is pretty laughable, mainly because it's still essentially the same game as 16, and there's so many things that the community has been screaming for that still haven't been addresed, but with the upgrades to goaltending, the upgrade to expansion, and a few of the little things that they've put in, this is a solid 7/10, which should make it the best hockey game released in a long, long time.
Now if only we could be able to share rosters, this game would be outstanding.

Fog of War makes franchise a lot more difficult and interesting. I love the gameplay enhancements. I think it's a big step up from '18

Since the first 2 days it was in ea access and I really didn’t like it.
Maybe after all the patches I’ll try it out in 2 mo.
