Re: NBA 2K19 TRIANGLE System
Czar should hopefully updating the offense soon to include the plays from the last 2k18 update and some plays from the UCLA high post series (aka 5 Series). Stay tunedComment

Re: NBA 2K19 TRIANGLE System
Does anybody know which dev is over the System Proficiency settings? The settings for the triangle are incorrect. I especially hate that 3pt attributes decreases when its active. Did anyone look at the 3pt stats of BJ, Craig Hodges, Trent tucker, Pax?Comment

Re: NBA 2K19 TRIANGLE System
I'm extremely interested in this. First year back playing 2K and I'm trying to get my teammates to run an organized offense. Saw the thread for last year's game and was very impressed.
Found myself finally watching Kobe Doin' Work for the first time.Comment

Re: NBA 2K19 TRIANGLE System
Are there any good triangle based playbooks, or is it pretty much limited to running freelance sets only?Comment

Re: NBA 2K19 TRIANGLE System
there isnt much set plays except the floppy play where Phil runs it very often for Kerr and Fisher. Else, I think the freelance is the way to go. It includes the UCLA play too but I notice the cpu would initiate with Horace Grant and O'Neal on the Pnr action, that was weird.
u can set Primary Focus on MJ and see how the freelance plays out.

Re: NBA 2K19 TRIANGLE System
I have yet to master the iso and post moves, so havent play much with the Triangle. I also notice Cpu double the post a lot and well, not much space to work on those moves.
The modern offense with heavy Pnr actions attract less double team though. I dun quite like running Pnr unless I have Kobe and Gasol in the game with Odom, Bynum squad. What are some of the tips ya play in post game/iso game in the triangle?

Re: NBA 2K19 TRIANGLE System
I am waiting for the playbook updates to post what I’ll be using for this years game. There are quite a few non triangle sets with triangle principles. I don’t call them often but with the AIs ability to adapt to freelance and the ‘go-to’ triangle plays you need to use counters. There were quite a few in 2k15 and 16 so hopefully we can add some of those back in addition to some new plays from the 5 series. There are also plays that for some reason have to be added back after the game is launched but I’ve told Czar which ones those are already.Comment

I actually like the double teams this year. Best ever. I want teams to double. With the spacing in the offense I always get an open shot off the second pass if not the first pass out of a double team. Tip: know where your players hot zones are. I call post and iso plays for my stars and make sure the other plays are in good positions. For example: with Harry in the game for the 01 Lakers I have no problem running a simple strong side entry strong side fill with Fisher ending up in the left corner Fox on the wing Horry on top. Shaq or Kobe and either be down on the post on the weakside. Depending on who’s hot I put one of them in the low post for the entry pass. With that alignment I have 3 three-point shooters in there hot zones with another strong player on the weakside occupying the defense. Double me if you want lolComment

Re: NBA 2K19 TRIANGLE System
I would also suggest getting familiar with the advanced controls like give n go, handoff/pitch, icon lead passing. Since we don’t have set counters you’ll need to react to the dynamic reads your AI teammates make. We’re in God mode as Cazr puts it so at least we can see everythingComment

With 2K19, I envision I will be running alot of freelance with change of Primary Focus (play through different player, not necessary through the Star player all the time) every few possessions and call Iso play before end of quarter. I like to work on the lower block and pinch post while waiting for the off-ball movements on better scoring opportunities. So, this is the part I'm not confident with the execution yet.
Besides the handoff/pitch pass, I think the Y-cut technique can be handy too (but I never use that in previous 2K, abit cheesy Imo).

For the last minute or two of each quarter I run more of an spread offense. The bulls and lakers call this “Open Set”Comment
