WWE 2K19 Community Impressions

The game is now out for everyone that got it early! Come on in and chat about your impressions!


So far...I did my standard match that I do with my guy vs. Shawn Michaels. Absolute clinic and both of us went through hell.

The crowd is greatly improved.
Commentary just seems better.
Faster paced matches feels better.


Will post more tomorrow! I am having so much fun with this!

I like finally they have an all section so all the wrestlers included download is in one area. Don’t like they didn’t include caw in that section which is stupid but I take it. First match was papa shango vs sting. Commentary much better gameplay seems smooth no clipping thing ran smooth.

I got it on PC and I must say the graphics are amazing.

Happy that most of the women got redone, Nia Jax, Ember Moon, Alexa Bliss just to name a few.

The textures on clothing is amazing...like Finn Balors leather jacket. Very well done.

Played a couple of matches. The pace is great. Felt like I was watching it on television.

Aiden English sings Rusev Day when they come out..almost sucks they broke up irl lol.

Played last night for a few hours. Early impressions are that it's better than 18. Feels better. Better animations in certain situations. Graphics are improved but nothing revolutionary.

Only did exhibition matches. Will dive into My Career tonight. And looking forward to Showcase mode.

I can see this game having more longevity this year.

Agreed. I'm just getting into now. It does feel improved and I just noticed you can turn the commentary off, so that's a bonus.

However, the wrestler models feel like step backwards. Rhonda looks like a guy and not sure what happened to Becky Lynch's face. The match screens, they look great, but in ring the models are not very good.

And what is up with the crowd noise? I can't tell if it's rain, waterfall, or someone told a joke and the crowd reacts for 1/2 a second then quiet again. Disappointing part.

But I do see playing this a lot.

My first match was my boy Velveteen Dream against Curt Hawkins, we kept the streak alive. Had fun with it and as always there's so much to do in the game. I really don't like creating my character and shows though, really wish they would allow a import of your previous character as far as looks. I've basically used the same player for a few years, oh well.

Before I create my character does anybody know if you can Import him from MyPlayer, really don't want to have to do it twice.

It really feels like matches flow more realistically with the CPU. I was Bryan vs Miz and he worked on me, did moves in the right context, hit his special then finisher to beat me. Mad I lost but it felt very realistic.

I also like how sometimes with moves like Bryan's corner kicks, once you trigger the move he does it twice without you have to do it multiple times. I really like that. Some may not, but makes it more realistic to me.

The only real issue that to me is such a problem with this game is the submission systems. Whether it be the circle thing or the button mashing, it's just to hard to do. I always lose when I get in a submission move and never win when I use one. Maybe I just suck at it.

@Steven547, I've noticed some really good crowd reactions, but also noticed what you're talking about. If you haven't already, play as Rusev with Aiden as your manager and that is where the crowd reaction shines.

And yeah, some of the faces are just terrible. Rhonda does look like a dude. And Becky, oh man.

The only thing I can think of is that when they scanned them it just didn't come out right. That can happen I guess.

first impressions, haven't jumped too into it yet, setting up my universe.Playing on PC.

Load times are MUCH faster.
I also like in Universe mode when selecting superstars it finally tells you what brand they are on. This way if you can't remember who's on which show it shows smackdown or raw or nxt etc logo next to their name

Match pace is much more realistic. Faster gameplay than previous years.

I also like how in Universe mode when you sim a match you can choose the winner

On PS4 I’ve had glitches, but funny glitches. I had AJ in a main event call out promo. Charlotte came out doing AJs mannerisms. She called out Joe who became Asuka. After it was done main screen had Asuka vs Charlotte. Then in Backlash it was Rusev vs. Sin Cara.. AJ was the champ but it has their match as the title match. Not sure if that’s just AJ related? Had refs freeze and not make counts.

In game is fun. Anyone else having finisher issues? 02 Taker vs. Rey I did 4 choke slams 3 last rides and a tombstone he kept kicking out. After the last ride through a table he kicked out, got up. I punched him, pinned him and won on a punch. Bryan vs. Cien was similar. Took 3 finishers and Cien still kicked out. I beat him on a top rope dive. Am I doing something wrong?

At the end of the day the bottom line is the game is fun. Had a Macho man vs Flair match going. Getting toward the finish. Nwo music hits like a run in is coming. No one comes out but Flair gets me from behind and puts me in the figure 4 and I couldn’t get out. Lost the match but was a fun finish.
