    Re: 2018: Week 4

LSU needs to prove something this week to the voters that they are top 15 worthy. An upset over #5 Auburn would do just that...

          Defense Reigns In Auburn

          LSU - 9
          Auburn - 14

The Auburn defense proved too much for the LSU offense. Neither ground nor air game could establish any consistency.

4 costly turnovers (3 INT, 1 FF) negated the 3 interceptions the LSU defense was able to secure. QB Joe Burrow really struggled to find his receivers completing only 44% of his passes. Nick Brossette was held to only 45 yards on the day.

The bright spot today was the LSU defense making adjustments following Auburn's first two possessions. The defensive front seven stepped up time and time again racking up 11 TFL and 4 sacks.

The team needs to regroup quickly as they head to Knoxville for a Saturday night matchup.

                      USC 38 Texas Tech 14

Texas Tech held the lead early on in the contest. USC pulled away in the 4th quarter. It was a sloppy game offensively, both offensive lines gave up an unhealthy amount of sacks and quarterbacks were not accurate with their throws. Overall good game Texas Tech. I look forward to a home and home if that will be the case.

#18 Miami cruises by North Texas, 31-10

Following a FG by North Texas that put them on the board at 7-3, Freshman Lorenzo Lingard returned the kick-off 99 yards to the house. After that it was all Miami, NT scored with 20 seconds left in the 4th. With both teams having 300 yards of offense, once again it was Miami's 3rd down defense, holding NT to 2-13, that made the difference in the game.

Miami looks to extend their win streak to 3 games against Georgia next week.

                          FSU 23-UL 12

The Noles finally put the pieces together and HC gets his first career win vs Louisville in what proved to be the coming out party for this FSU defense that created 2 turnovers and a clean game for the offense which had 0.
Deondre Francois led the way going 19-28 in passes for 253 yards and 2 TDs with no interceptions and was only sacked three times. DJ Matthews had 9 receptions on the day for 113 yards and a TD and the big 6'4" frame of Tamorrion Terry brought in 4 as well as 81 yards and a TD.

The defense generated pressure bringing in 2 INTs and 6 sacks on the day. A.J. Westbrook led the way with 9 tackles.
