If this actually happens do we still keep DJ on the game?

Re: UFC swapping DJ for Ben Askren
No way we get him in this game is there? I highly doubt it unless this has been under wraps and the UFC thought to let EA Sports know about well in advance.
One could wish though.

Re: UFC swapping DJ for Ben Askren
I would say there is less than a 1% chance that happens. Askren is likely someone they will hold out until the next game.Comment

I will give them my $60 for the next game in advance if they put him UFC 3. You tell them at the next pizza gathering good sir.

Re: UFC swapping DJ for Ben Askren
Ben Askren signing to the UFC is the best thing that can happen for the future of UFC videogames. It’s gonna force devs to make wrestling more viable.
Why?
Askren has no standup. He just comes right forward and wrestles non stop the whole fight. Yet he’s successful. EA UFC 4 will be FORCED to make this a viable fighting strategy if they intent to add Askren to the game.
They wouldn’t even be able to add Askren to the current game because his style isn’t usable. You HAVE to use extensive striking to be successful on EA UFC 3.Xbox GT: the relaxed guyComment

Re: UFC swapping DJ for Ben Askren
Askren wouldn’t fit on UFC 3 because of the way the game’s made. You have to strike to be successful on UFC 3. If you try to actually play like Askren, you gas and lose fast. We’d be forced to use him as a striker which just wouldn’t be cool. I say hold off until they make an MMA game that gives wrestling the respect it deserves. Unless they release some patch that DRASTICALLY reduces stamina penalty on missed TD and clinch attempts, and a whole bunch of new, viable options to tie up.Xbox GT: the relaxed guyComment

Re: UFC swapping DJ for Ben Askren
You underestimate the power of them not really caring one fighter's style doesn't fit into the game very well. I don't think they'd overhaul wrestling because of one fighter. If they overhaul grappling, its gonna be because they already planned on overhauling grappling.Ben Askren signing to the UFC is the best thing that can happen for the future of UFC videogames. Re: UFC swapping DJ for Ben Askren
I personally want to see him in there with top dudes right away. There have been all these hypotheticals for years and the guy has always been confident about what he can do. No need to send DJ packing and then have him some fighting some mediocre welterweight. I'd don't want to see him against anyone who isn't currently in the top 10.
The current UFC rankings:
1 Colby Covington
2 Darren Till
3 Rafael Dos Anjos
4 Stephen Thompson
5 Robbie Lawler
6 Kamaru Usman
7 Demian Maia
8 Neil Magny
9 Jorge Masvidal
10 Santiago Ponzinibbio
He definitely doesn't deserve a crack at Woodley, but anyone on that list works for me.
This is such a strange move, though. Maybe this is a sign that 125 is getting shut down soon and 165 is coming in?Last edited by Pappy Knuckles; 10-24-2018, 09:46 PM.Comment
