Will 2k address the lack of fouls in this game? -

Played a game, only 4 fouls got called for the CPU. CPU went to the line 4 times..

this is just gamebreaking for me, anything i can do to fix this?

Nope. In the last few iterations of this game, I notice something like this within a few days of playing the game and it completely prevents me from buying the game or having any desire to play it whatsoever. I check OS less and less often because I have lost the faith in the devs to even attempt to fix stuff like this. The people have spoken and are extremely vocal about the concern that devs will just ruin the experience for them by patching a scuffed game mechanic such as the blatant lack of fouls. At the end of the day, you lie to yourself by saying "Hmm...Maybe next year it will have fouls, timeouts, AND a logical bench / rotation system.."

There is a legit issue with fouls, though. Charge and blocking fouls in particular. But fouls as a whole need to be addressed. I've tried sliders maxed out and zeroed out (in case the sliders were reversed) and I've yet to see either of those called. At this point I think it's on 2K to patch it.

Dont be like that. I've been a 2k simulation fan since 04. I know when they're glaring issues with the game. I remember back in 2k12 when we had the lack of double teams.

You think I didn't play countless number of games with sliders?

You think its realistic for the Lakers w Lebron to shoot 6 free throws a game? Or how Bout the Bucks, shooting 7.

I just dont like when people assume I didnt try all the so called "solutions"

I've played with sliders maxed to 100

Theres a lack of blocking fouls, charging fouls, shooting fouls, etc

Yeah, the fouls sliders are a joke. The problem is the game does a terrible job on calling fouls even when there is obvious contact. Hell, what about that animation where you take a shot down low and wind up on your butt because the CPU bumps you?

It seems like the only way to get fouled is to drive the hoop. I've never been fouled during even a heavily contested jump shot....mid range or 3. And driving into the teeth of the defense hoping to get fouled is really just something that winds up being blocked.

Just because there is sliders it doesn't mean 2k is a 'Build your own basketball' game. Fouls are a part of everyday basket ball and if they are portraying themselves as a sim basketball game its on them to portray it accurately when it is innacurrate.

If it can be fixed with sliders why isnt the corrected sliders already in the default slider set? If I had to fix speed, fouls, rebounds with sliders after buying the game etc I might as well just join the company part time and work on the game in an official setting my damn self.



However, Will it be fixed by 2k? Probably not. Because its mainly an offline issue and its not a VC exploit

While most people will just complain about random issues from year to year without attempting a fix, this is not one of those times, fouls seem to be a legacy issue at this point. Blocking fouls seem almost non-existent every year which always makes me scratch my head since it's one of the most called fouls on every level of organized ball. I can always cheese my way to the line if needed but I'd prefer not to do that. Just think it needs to be a focus of the dev's at some point similar to how they eradicated the hip riding issue from last year because so many people complained. Just my 2 cents

2K does need to fix it. Sliders are not available in all game modes, so that is not a viable solution.

Fouls are broken, you cant put them all at a 100, and outside of reach ins and shooting fouls when your in the paint, is the only fouls that will be called.Anyone who cant see this either knows nothing about basketball, or they are a casual fan, and could care less how few fouls get called.

Agreed totally. I had enough and 2 days ago I bought Live 19 after buying 2k since the Dreamcast. Live has fouls, but the overall game is lacking in options and imo is garbage comparing!

you are 100% correct. but here's the truth. Fouls are broken on purpose. you know how i know?
Turn up the player chatter in the settings. notice how often you hear that voice say "thats a foul" or "And 1" when you are actually getting fouled. but yet no whistle is blown. that means 2k has the proper collision detection detecting when you are actually getting hammered. yet they choose not to call it. the same logic that says "If Player A gets hammered by Defender A, then play audio clip "And One" 50% of the time or "thats a foul" 50% of the time.

They can easily extend that logic and say If player A gets hammered by defender A, Call a shooting foul and play audio clip "And 1" 50% of the time or audio clip "that's a foul!!".

Wtf?? I dont understand how people are complaining about not getting foul calls. Last night i was on my career playing on SS and played against the stacked warriors and they had 11 team fouls in just the 3rd quarter alone. Steph curry had 4 fouls, d cousins got fouled out in the beginning of the 4th quarter and draymond had 4 fouls as well. My center shot atleast 13 free throws that game. Almost every game i play theres always someone in foul trouble.

1st of all MyCareer is different from MyLeague, so you cant compare 1 to the other. 2nd of all, reach ins and shooting fouls inside the paint, get called plenty of times, especially if your someone who is constantly attacking the rim.

The fouls that arent being called, or are very rare, is Charges, Blocking, Over the back, Loose Ball, and shooting fouls on 3pt attempts.



While OTB and Loose Ball fouls do get called some, there needs to be more than there is.
Charges, Blocking, and shooting fouls on 3pt attempts, are extremely rare, to non existent.



Teams average anywhere from 17-23 fouls per game, not free throw attempts, fouls. Free throws attempted per game average anywhere from 17 to 27. This is roughly where they were at last season.


You may very well be seeing the free throws attempted close to accurate on 12 minute qtrs, but you aint seeing a realistic amount of team fouls, that is unless, your shooting well over 30 free throws per game that is.
