    Sabo's Gameplay Edits & Sliders

    Madden is a very fickle SOB. We all know this. But like anything else, it can potentially generate an organic experience depending on how you approach it. I'm not saying these are going to make you happy or give you the results you're looking for. I'm only sharing because I'm having so much fun playing the damn game that maybe it'll bring the same joy to someone else. I know most people have moved on to other games but I find myself playing now more then ever.

    THE MISSION
    *Struggle to go 9-7, I hate always ending up 12-4
    *Different play calling experience every week
    *Players rotating in and out of the lineup at certain positions
    *Most important position stands out and we see a difference in QBs
    *Making ratings matter and mismatches get exploited
    *Running game produce consistent small gains with occasional big pop
    *Drives taking 10+ plays to generate points
    *Generate 3-6 Penalties a game per team without killing the flow

    These are the list of things I want out of the game and so far these edits have given me it.

    THE EDITS
    1)Assign the CPU my playbooks.

    Go to this thread for more. These will give you a different experience in terms of CPU playcalling on both sides of the ball. I don't care what anyone tells you, THIS WILL CHANGE THE ENTIRE WAY THE GAME LOOKS IN A WAY SLIDERS CANT.
    PLAYBOOKS

    2)Edit the Autosubs of both teams before the game

    All Defaut except
    HB- 97/99
    WR- 75/80
    DL- 97/99
    LB- 75/80

    3)Retooling the QBs

    Lowering all the QB accuracy to your team and the team you play before the game. The reason behind this is there is a threshold rating that puts players in tiers. I prefer this way because I feel like just doing the QB sliders effects way too many things AND really only triggers misfires when using the high/low pass and the CPU never does.

    Going this route all you're doing is bringing down the accuracy which will trigger misfires, but still keep their pocket awareness and throwing the ball away. The other thing I'm loving is how it creates new animations with WRs reaching for the ball on all kinds of routes making it very true to life looking. There are different tiers and by default most starters are at least GOOD but they play their best in the POOR range IMO.

    Subtracting 18 rating points on each one puts all guys under the "poor" threshold which is IMO what they should be at default. If it's too extreme for you, just subtract enough to get them in the AVERAGE range.


    QB Thresholds (ELITE,GOOD,AVRG,POOR)
    ShortAccuracy: +87, 86-82, 81-75, 74-68
    MediumAccuracy: +84, 83-79, 78-70, 71-66
    DeepAccuracy: +80, 79-73, 72-68, 67-61



    Traits were tricky but after some toying around this is what I've settled on. Tight Spiral effects how fast a ball can fit through a window and how much it wobbles. Throw ball away is obvious but I believe only people with over 80 AWR even use it according to frosty tool. Throw Ball Away and Tight Spiral are important to have on for everyone because it makes no sense to not, almost how the game doesn't assign sideline catches to all offensive players.

    Pocket presence has a big effect on making good QBs stand out from bad ones. It is broken down in four different tiers that are basically a radius for how big the pocket is and how much of an effect a blocked, unblocked and almost blocked defender have on how soon he'll get rid of the ball.

    Force passes is one I think I misjudged. I made the decision to assign everyone to conservative after thinking it ony effected sim stats and playing against Kirk Cousins who was just taking shots left and right. But after going againt other high rated QBs, I don't feel threatened because they'd throw the ball before letting routes fully develop. After browsing Frosty more, it looks like this trait effects gameplay and is coded to be triggered if the team is down by 3-7 points and has more than 8 yards to go for a first down.

    *Awareness 99-86 - TBA yes, Ideal, Ideal, TTS yes
    *Awareness 85-80 - TBA yes, Average, Balanced, TTS yes
    *Awareness 79-75 - TBA yes, Trigger Happy, Conservative, TTS yes
    *Awareness 74-00 - TBA yes, Paranoid, Conservative, TTS yes
    *Ball Carrier Vision 76 or more- Scrambler
    *Ball Carrier Vision 75 or less - Balanced


    SETTINGS
    SKILL LEVEL - ALL-MADDEN (or ALL-PRO)
    QUARTER LENGTH - 9 minutes (user preference)
    ACCELERATED CLOCK - OFF (user preference)
    AUTO STRAFE - OFF
    HEAT SEEKER - OFF
    BALL HAWK - OFF
    SWITCH ASSIST - OFF
    INJURIES - 40 (52 when simming) (User preference)
    FATIGUE - 50 (user preference)
    GAME SPEED - NORMAL (user preference)
    PLAYER SPEED THRESHOLD - 65 (user preference)

    HOUSE RULES
    None. The game will be as sim as you play it. Simply if it isn't done on Sunday, don't do it.

    PLAYER/CPU SKILL
    QB Accuracy - 50
    Pass Blocking - 50
    WR Catching - 50
    Run Blocking - 50
    Fumbles - 50

    Pass Defense Reaction Time - 50
    Interceptions - 15/30 (you can increase if you're not getting enough as a user, I have it this low because I lurk the middle and its too easy)
    Pass Coverage - 50
    Tackling - 35/50 (to help CPU running game, won't fix their bizarro RPM but helps averages)

    FG Power - 51 (CPU attempts stupid lengths, did this just so the have a chance)
    FG Accuracy - 40
    Punt Power - 50
    Punt Accuracy - 50
    Kickoff Power - 55 (helps make most of the kickoffs touchbacks like real life)

    PENALTIES
    OFFSIDE - 50
    FALSE START - 50
    HOLDING - 60
    DEFENSIVE HOLDING - 50
    FACE MASK - 50
    DEF PASS INTERFERENCE - 75
    OFF PASS INTERFERENCE - OFF
    KICK CATCH INTERFERENCE - ON
    ILLEGAL BLOCK IN THE BACK 50
    INTENTIONAL GROUNDING - ON
    ROUGHING PASSER - 51
    ROUGHING KICKER - ON
    RUNNING INTO THE KICKER - ON

            I used iMacs as a base. I do the QB edits before the game and after each game.

                    This plays well. I added in the 65 threshold suggestion from Josh to tighten power plays. The SAC/MAC/DAC edits are a nice way to keep the AI that you get at 50 while producing more misfires.

                      I'm on the verge of doing the same because I've been hitting the corner way too easy with my speed running back

                        Are you using 10 INJ in the MM or 40 in the MM and CFM?

                          I never got caught up in the MM/CFM settings theory. So they currently just match each other...

                          The only reason I say this is because after messing with frosty tool none of that stuff shows up... it could have some merit or it could be placebo, whatever works best for you I say do it...

                            Sabo did you ever figure anything out with the fumbles slider tying into rbability in frosty? I used your old sliders from another thread with fumbles at 65 for cpu and they seemed to run better. I know rbk for cpu was 85 on those old sliders but was curious what you thought.

                              It IS the RB ability slider but like all every other slider, it effects more then just one thing for some backward f'ing reason lol.. Its why i decided to just go with as close to default at possible..

                              Michahpop discovered that the RB ability slider also has an effect on DB reaction time to routes so who knows man..
