There are teams like Stanford and Texas A&M who lost to teams that weren't even ranked before the game. There are teams like Notre Dame and Clemson who lost to teams that they played that were within a rank or two of each other. And then there's Ohio State, who's ranked number 2 without playing a single snap. The race for the National Championship Playoff is going to be hot all year long, so expect to see some amazing games.

In Tier 8, Central Michigan makes history with the first valid win in Tier 8. Other than the Chippewas, everybody lost this week and the two teams who won, Georgia State and Kent State, beat FCS opponents last week, which is not a valid win.
The Chippewas continue their season with a game in East Lansing against Michigan State on September 14.
