    Gameplans are really shining now

Now that the game is much more balanced than it was at release, i'm seeing gameplans really shine in different matchups.

Many different styles can be effective now and gamplanning is finally a thing. For example, i fought a Max user the other day that wanted to push me on the feet and work my body. I ferociously grappled him with Ortega and nullified his high pace strategy.

I fought Advaita on the weekend and he picked me apart with outside fighting because i was being overly aggressive in pursuit of him. Against guys who fight on the outside i'm usually grapple heavy but he was great at keeping distance.

So basically different gameplans/styles can and do work vs varying opponents. Like i said, i've recently been grapple heavy and fight with a grind-it-out kind of style working for submissions and GnP. What styles are you guys having success with?
    Lineup:
    PG) Gary Payton
    SG) '95-'96 Michael Jordan
    SF) Sapphire Scottie Pippen
    PF) '95-'96 Dennis Rodman
    C) Hakeem Olajuwon

The best strategy for me asides from a game plan is to not care about loosing .

Always watch they enter the pocket with . You can always tell if someone is more about block breaking than actually the art of fighting .

Against pressure fighters with god like stamina do your best to keep it on the ground for as long as possible don't let up on the GnP ...don't give the ref a chance to stand it up .

Re: Gameplans are really shining now

I definitely have to worry about people catching me in submissions more than before, which is a good thing (keeps me honest haha)

I'm having a great time mixing-up takedowns with my boxing. Especially if my opponent is throwing massive volume and/or throwing crazy or unorthodox haymakers.

No need to roll the dice in the phone booth with these button mashers if I can take them down nearly at will, sapping both their in-game stamina, and their real-life soul! bwahhahahaha

I find myself getting nearly 50% of my finishes via a 'true' ground n pound TKO. So not just that I knocked them down and Finished the Fight --- I actually worked for position, beat their guard down, and TKO'd them from Full Mount or postured Half guard, etc.

A few months ago maybe 10% of my finishes came that way. Not because I didn't WANT to play the Ground n Pound card, but because it just wasn't feasible against most competitive fighters.

One of the things I liked a lot about EA MMA was that some of my wins came from standup KOs; and some from GnP. Always made me feel like a more dynamic fighter and kept the game fun. A decade or so later I'm about at that spot again hallelujah

That's definitely something I have to work on shooting a double leg after a successful hit stun ...I don't have much faith in the normal takedown as it's easy to deny in most situations and then some .

Definitely have to work on it . Still think it needs tuning tho .

I agree with almost everything. However, as soon as possible elbow and knee hit should be adjusted.

I've had some brilliant fights recently in quick match and made some new rivalries.

You're dead right, all game plans are pretty much effective now. I've had a lot of fights that sway back and forth over the three/five rounds as to who is winning and it's because we all have more options now.

Great work Game Changers and Devs!

I 100% agree with this post. Game feels more complete now than ever before. Grappling is now a viable game plan.

HOWEVER, I do have one issue. The lack of mobility in the clinch is still an issue, and reduces the effectiveness of a grappling-heavy game plan.

This game has come a long way since launch (when it basically was a kickboxing game w/ submissions), but still requires some additions before it is a truly balanced MMA game
