    I thought this was funny

This happened two nights ago and I have not played 2K since. I walk on to a got next spot with my 90 Overall Pure Sharpshooter. Two other guys immediate step off and walk over to another court. Part of me suspected it was because the game was closer to being completed so I followed them and hopped on another got next spot. The same guy proceeds to step off.

So I send him a message letting him know how I felt about how much of a P%&# he was being and he replies "I don't need you messing up my record".

lol im done with park. this crap is a joke. all anyone cares about is their record in a game where record is no indication of skill whatsoever.

I’ll most likely be amateur 1 five months from now just because I don’t ever bother playing 2k most of the time let alone park. Waiting on circles isn’t fun.

So you’re telling me I need to grind badges then grind park as well just to get my level up? And I’m assuming the only way that happens is if I win games so as an amateur 1 To win games i am going to have to hope that pro level players will play with me while I dodge other amateur 1 level players as well. It’s funny to see how everyone acts like they were not amateur 1 once before.

I have 0 people to play this game with when i started. I started as an amateur 1 too.

I started dodging other amateur 1’s and tried to play with amateur 2’s. Anything higher than a pro 1, i dodged as well.

I still got in plenty of games this way.
I got to amateur 2 rather quickly.

I kept it up until amateur 3 this way.
And since then ive added a handful of players with whom i sometimes team up. Currently close to pro 1

The players of the 2k online community all around strangle themselves way too much in elitism.

I stopped playing park games exactly because of the behavior you described. Even guys in their 60s step off when I tried to join themwith my 92 ovr. And if you get to play with some of them they ballhog and spam messages because I don‘t pass up the ball after every rebound. It‘s kind of funny.

The whole Got Next system is a joke. I don't even try to play anymore because I don't feel like running around trying to get a game for 30 minutes. It's a waste of time, and more importantly, it's not fun.

Least inclusive game on market, literally bullies you into paying extra $ for OVR or nobody will play with you.

I agree but my question is why no one here ever form pro ams or friends lists etc to play with the community players. I've tried multiple times to facilitate this but no one ever comes through but everyone is always complaining.

Make some friends, get a squad. Issue over.

Re: I thought this was funny

I think the issue is that you shouldn't need to have a squad or friends. You should just be able to get in a line and "have next" just like if you were playing pickup ball somewhere.

And when you play pick up ball sometimes you get stuck with bad players, that is just how it goes. You don't tell the guy at the Y or your local pick up game to go find friends and he has to wait.

I'm not sure even why record matters for rec league or park. Who cares, it is for fun. I mean yeah if you are competitive you want to win but that is even more gratifying when you do it with less talent on your team.

I don't really get the elitist attitude with this game when it comes to park and rec games.

If you are a casual player with lower overall rating who just wants to play an online game every now and then it is tough. Especially park.

Plus ratings don't always mean anything anyway. I have seen plenty of 70 ovr guys play better than 88+ guys just by knowing basketball and knowing the game.

And not everyone has time to grind there player to 90 and may not want to spend extra money to do so. That shouldn't prevent them from enjoying a pickup game online.

Honestly, I haven't played a single game of JRC or Park due to this whole elitism attitude. I just don't have time to be hopping from circle to circle trying to get a game in. Heck, I don't like waiting more than a minute in the PNO mode.

Well take a look at your record. If its less then .500 no one wants to play with you. Im one of those picky people in park also. If your not an amateur 3 dont play. If your record is less then .500 dont play. I understand it sounds kinda like elitist but i wanna play the game to win and maximize MyPoints. No one plays this game to lose. No one wants to lose. And you cannot tell me you have ‘fun’ playing this game to lose.

The record is not an indication of the player...it can sometimes be an indication of the teammates.

And that is a garbage attitude to have. If you haven't already played a lot and won, don't play? GTFO with that. I have about 6 park games played total. I've spent about 8 hours trying to get into games since I bought the game, and have played less than 10 total games. And it's because of people with sh*tty attitudes like yours.

I don't have a ton of friends on PSN that play 2K, however when I play with randoms the 3 things I look for are their build, shooting percentages, and then their stats. If they shoot less than 50% from the field, most likely I'm going to pass on playing with them. Granted if the park is dead or I'm just trying to get a game or two in before going out, I'll hop on. I've played with Elite 1's who were way worse than Amateur 2's I've played with. The ranking system is a joke, as most everyone already knows though.

I've played about 700 games in the park and maybe 200 have been with friends, so around 500 have been with randoms. Win percentage is a hair over 70%. Obviously no one likes to lose, so while I try to be as inclusive as possible, I'm not playing with a guy that's played 230 games and shoots 33% from the field and 27% from 3.
