It’s the little things that remind me how much EA doesn’t care about us offliners

So I finally started my season and 3 games in I’m reminded how lazy EA is with simple inexcusable things. Here’s 4 things I’ve noticed and most are return issues.

    1) Left Handed Goalies sticks are backwards...still

    2) One of my PK defenseman took a penalty so they replace him with a forward from my other PK line. Despite having 5 other defenseman available I now had a forward, the same forward, playing D on PK line 1 and C on PK line 2.

    3) Wingers line up for faceoff on PK when you have a perfectly good center out there.

    4) 3rd game of the season and it’s October 8 but the announcers spent the game wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and making holiday jokes and commentary.

While gameplay is the most important thing the little things are also important to add to the immersion and enjoyment. This stuff is so lazy and inexcusable. Don’t get me started on roster share.

Anyone else notice lazy inexcusable things?

First of all a Franchise offline Dynasty mode player needs mire information about players. If I am interessted in a Trade of a wished player it is a must to know his history. Therefore we need a full playercard with full statistics by Team name not adding together a season in NHL or AHL. In this player card should be also written the youtsh stats, past Trades and for whom be Traded. Hot and cold streaks, honors in his career and Cup Rings. It’s wondering me why we ca not open in calender the past games to look for past game stats ? There are also no season Team stats for past seasons. Would like to have a newspaper and shirt broadcast which shows hot and cold streaks, injuries and intressting news after each gameday.

I noticed yesterday that the GWG stats are a mess. For the user controlled team anyways. I scored the winning goal (2-1) in a game with a player who after the game didn't have any GWG's to his name. Also one of my defencemen has 2 goals in total, of which 3(?) are GWG's.

And do not get me started with the gameplay...But online play is where the big bucks are, that's just how things are nowadays. Offline play in sports gaming will never evolve into a fully immersive and realistic experience. And that is the players' fault. Stop wasting your money and time on coins, vc, whathaveyou and the developers will not waste theirs on online game modes.

I feel you. Being a huge hockey fan makes it hard to play this game. I was away from it for many years and decided to take the plunge again this year. I find it okay but not something I’m itching to play because the attention to detail is completely missing from the game. It seems it is just a game made by video game makers and not hockey fans. In my time away from NHL games I played a lot of The Show and you can tell those are baseball guys making a baseball game. Where this is a hockey game made by non-hockey people. I probably won’t buy another NHL game for a while/ever unless something dramatic changes. All EA Sports games continue to go downhill as time progresses in my opinion.

Totally agree. The franchise mode lacks so much immersion by not having this (and not having a player finder search function). Every year I hoped they would add this, and every year they have failed.

Are y'all not able to rent games in your area? I learned my lesson 3 years ago to stop buying they're crap before playing it. When I get that itch to play a hockey game and if it seems worth it, I buy it from someone without giving EA any money. I rented nhl 19 when it came out and brought it back the next day because it was basically the same BS as 18. I see the same ppl here every year pissed about the game and regret buying it, and go buy and support EA the next year. This dev team is so bad they're patching back to the open beta version. That's horrible for a software company. Just stop supporting them.

I actually skipped 19 (I stopped buying EA's products each year, just not enough change - every few years works for me). Was it in 18? If so, I can't find it.

Its not in 18, but they bring it back on NHL 19.

Ah. Hmm, well, that's one reason to pick up 19, if I can find it cheap enough. Thanks!

How about this line.... If you're just with us, it's been a tremendous bit of hockey, and more to come. Doc's one line every time you join a game midway through going on 5 years now! only heard it 4000 times.
