lack of injuries after last patch
I had the injury slider on 25 using some sliders off the board. I was seeing a decent amount of injuries on both myself and the cpu. After the patch, there are basically no injuries now. Can someone help here and tell me what they have injuries set at in their franchise and I hope the patch didn't break that slider where it will not work no matter what number it is set at.Tags: None -
Re: lack of injuries after last patch
I see slightly fewer injuries in my offline franchise. Before the patch I had 5-6 players out for a considerable length throughout the season, post-patch it's been 2-3. I have noticed the vast majority of the injuries have been Shoulder Tear, which seems weird to me.Comment

Re: lack of injuries after last patch
I have had TWO WR break a forearm or a thumb while blocking on the backside of the play. I can understand those type of injuries more at the point of attack but very rarely do wr injuries occur on the backside. Plus we all know that the backside effort of WRs isnt the best all the time!Comment

Re: lack of injuries after last patch
If you want to get a realistic amount both simming and playing games it seems like you have to increase the value after you played your game before you advance the week or on a week you are simming your game. It seems like there are less injuries during summer games than actually playing. With it set at 38 I get a good amount of injuries while playing, usually just out for that game then the occasional multiple week injury.Comment

Re: lack of injuries after last patch
Sim engine and in game injuries are def down for me after last patch...
Same thing with fatigue:
Saw a lot more of those fatigue indicator "colors" before patch, along with less player rotation...
My guess is the former may be tied to the latter...
At any rate:
I hope this at least gets returned to it's former level of functionality in next patch...Comment

Re: lack of injuries after last patch
I have mine at 38. Had it at 40 and was getting just a little too many injuries. I know going down 2 points isn't much but it is just a bit better while still getting injuries. Still had my QB go down for five weeks, my #1 WR for 4 weeks, my RB for 4 weeks and have others just miss the game in progress.Comment

Re: lack of injuries after last patch
I use 15 when I play a game in my offline CFM.
I bump it up to 30 when I sim all the CPU games each week, and then put it back to 15 temporarily for my game. So I bounce back and forth between 15 and 30.
I get what seems like a realistic amount of injuries. I am at week 16 in my Patriots CFM and Gronkowski got hurt (of course) for 4 weeks but I will get him back in time for playoffs. I lost James White earlier in the season for several weeks (cant remember how many exactly). I lost Stephen Gilmore for a few weeks at one point too, so I signed a low OVR CB, and he got a season long injury, but then Gilmore came back so it was OK.
Those were my only "major" injuries.
I also had dozens of 1 week injuries, as well as dozens of minor injuries where the player came back within the same game.
For CPU teams, usually if they have someone injured, it is around 1-3 players. When I have looked there are usually 7 or 8 teams with no one injured.
I do not think I have noticed a difference since the last patch. But it sounds like I am playing with the slider lower than most, so maybe its just hard for me to notice a difference.
I also am not sure the injury slider actually affects simmed games, so I might not really need to adjust it from 15 to 30 each week... I just do it because I read in the slider forums I should.
Hope that helps.Last edited by IcedCoffee1983; 01-04-2019, 11:48 AM.Comment

Re: lack of injuries after last patch
At default (40) last game I had 5 injuries and the Patriots had 6 (4 of them all out). Seems realistic to me and I like having to use backup players as some of them become starters and allow me to feel ok passing on resigning an aging veteran.
I had my 5th round DT come in and get 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble and 3 tackles for losses. Starting DT Corey Peters wants a ton of money but after seeing this guy play, I think I'm going to pass.Comment

Re: lack of injuries after last patch
I know this does not address the question, but EA needs two different injury sliders: frequency and duration.
Frequency will represent those nagging injuries. These are when players get the wind knocked out and come back two plays later. When players are checked for concussions but are cleared. Those kind of things.
Duration are the more serious injuries where players are out for a number of weeks.Comment

Re: lack of injuries after last patch
I've still got it set around 15 and i've been getting a lot of injuries this season. Lost a few o linemen and lost Wentz for 5 games, then he came back and played a game and a half before going out for another 6.Comment
