Journey to The Top | Rice Owls Football

    Introduction:

Hello fellow OS members, some of you may know me as I been around the OS forums for years now. I am creating this thread to keep progress on my Dynasty with ULM in NCAA Football 14. Since Teambuilder is down and I can't create a team, I decided to go with a team already in the game and hasn't had much success. Rice fit that category for me. As we know Rice has been really up and down the last 15 years so I think building them into a consistent, good team will be fun. I look to build this team up to be a powerhouse and be able to be considered one the best in college football. I also think this will add more fun to my Dynasty and provide entertainment I hope to those who read this lol.

Giving another go at this since my first two dynasties got corrupted. Clean start and a new thread where there isn't any cluttered from previous posts about the previous ones I was trying to do. Sadly the other ones corrupted and a lot of storylines I had developing won't be played out, but that's fine. Positive note I can provide quicker updates and I now got a grasp on how I want to approach everything moving forward. I am not 100% sure what was causing the issues but after researching the error code, it was suggested to factory reset my system, reinstall the game updates and ever since it has been fine. Fingers crossed!!

Previous thread no longer active: https://forums.operationsports.com/f...-warhawks.html

Other side notes: I have updated all conferences to be close as possible to what it is today. It won't be 100% accurate as I have Idaho and New Mexico in Sun Belt.

          Feel free to post now!

I'll be starting to get everything ready to go tonight with roster rolled out, coaching staff, schedule and preseason stuff possibly. I am currently working on getting all the info for team done now.

Dope! Glad to have you onboard as well! I was looking into the teams previous history and just general things about the school and it really drew my interest.

Appreciate the shout out in the intro post! Love the team choice, should be fun to have a ton of talent to try and fight for in your home state, though a ton of competition to go against for it. Should be a good challenge!

Former Vikings Coach Brad Childress Takes Job at Rice | Looking For A Second Chance

                        David Torres, ESPN Senior Writer

                        August 2nd, 2013

                        _________________________________________

Rice has added former Minnesota Vikings Coach Brad Childress who had solid success but couldn't win it all and was let go of the middle of the 2010 season as the Vikings were 3-7 and during the offseason prior to the 2010 season, he apparently waived Hall of Famer Randy Moss without talking to the owners about it. Childress left Minnesota with a 39-35 (.527) Regular Season record and a 1-2 (.333) Postseason Record. He then spent the 2012 season with the Cleveland Browns as an Offensive Coordinator but was let go after a single season. Childress was given an offer to work for the Kansas City Chiefs as a Spread Game Analysts but he turned it down for the HC job at Rice University.
Coach Brad Childress said: "Some think I am a fool for turning down a job offer from an NFL team for a job in college levels. I appreciate the interests from the Chiefs, but I still believe I can coach and help Rice University achieve amazing things."
Childress is better known for being an offensive minded coach that likes to run a Pro-Style offense and either a 4-3 defense or a 4-2-5 defense. Some will consider this an interesting hiring as Childress hasn't had the best track record. Rice University is trying to find ways to turn this program into a top 5 program. Maybe Brad is the guy.

                        Head Coach:

                        Brad Childress

                        Age: 55
                        Offense: Pro Style
                        Defense: 4-2-5/4-3

                        Offensive Coordinator:

                        Jerry Mack

Former Player and coach. Previous head coach for North Carolina Central Eagles. Played for Jackson State and Arkansas State as a wide receiver.
He produced a 31-15 overall record at North Carolina Central and a 26-6 record in conference.

                        Age: 38
Offense: Likes a mixture of the Spread offense and Pro-Style

                        Defensive of Coordinator:

                        Brian Smith

Former defensive back coach for Michigan. Helped and was part of the one the best defenses in the nation. Loves to work with safeties and Cornerbacks.
Rice is looking to improve the defense as it hasn't been very good... Pretty much nonexistent.

                        Defense: 4-3 or 4-2-5

No problem man! I love your work. Really has influenced me to get into this. I love this team choice for that reason. The in state talent will be huge but getting it won’t be easy with all the competition as well! Can’t wait to get this rolling. Thanks for checking in!
