    Pro-Rel Playoff Update

    Adam Rittenberg, ESPN Senior Writer
    December 21, 2013
    -------------------------------------------
Mount Pleasant, MI - Earlier today, the pro-rel playoffs continued with three matchups, with each team vying for a spot in their respective tiers. Virginia and California were fighting to stay in Tier 2, while Northwestern and SMU were fighting to earn promotion to Tier 2. Meanwhile, an undefeated Cincinnati looked to top Louisiana Tech to be able to join Tier 3.

    Belk Bowl
The Belk Bowl, between 16th ranked Northwestern and Virginia, was held to determine who would be in the Big Ten the next year. The Wildcats started strong with a score on their first drive and they kept a tight grip on that lead the entire game. The turnovers are what really cost the Cavaliers to game. If they went perfect in the turnover department, they could've cut the lead down, possibly enough to take the lead. Virginia falls down to 2-10 on the year and are now relegated from Tier 2.

    Valero Alamo Bowl
Surprise winner of the American, SMU, faces off against a 1-11 California that has seen better days, to say the least. Today was not a better day for the Golden Bears. Leading into the 4th quarter, it seemed like Cal would be able to stay up in Tier 2. However, that was not the case, as SMU cemented an 11-point comeback with two touchdowns on back-to-back drives. SMU earn promotion to the Big 12, while they force Cal to move down to the American.

    Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl
After a loss to Wake Forest, Louisiana Tech had one more chance to be able to stay in Tier 3. However, they were matched up against Cincinnati - the best team in the nation. Cincinnati clobbed the Bulldogs and there was no coming back at the end of the first half. The Bearcats were absolutely no match for Louisiana Tech and it showed on the field. Louisiana Tech are sent down to the MAC, while the Cincinnati Bearcats earn promotion to Tier 3.

The two remaining games are between NC State and West Virginia in the Chick-fil-A Bowl and Missouri and Washington State in the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl. Missouri and NC State look to cap off their season with a promotion to Tier 1, while West Virginia and Washington State look to save their season and remain in Tier 1.

Cincinnati ranked #1? Wow! And I though having Wake Forest #1 in my dynasty was interesting!

        Hello all!

After roughly 2 months and 2 weeks of this thread being dead, I believe that I'm back. This thread is still going to be dead, unfortunately, but I've thought about this for about a day, and I'm ready to start up again. I will be starting a new thread in the coming days, and I'll explain more on the thread, but what I want to do is have a 5-year sim before I begin, so the storyline will begin in the year 2018. This sim will be used to determine who will be in which tier when we begin the pro-rel system up in the NCAA world. I'll be following the same rules as before and all that, however, the team will change, and I'll pick a team based on the teams that are in Tier 8. Additionally, I plan on taking this one slow and deliberate and doing my best not to lose my interest in it.

Within the next couple days, I'll make a new thread, so when that comes out, make sure to check it out and follow! Hopefully, I can get this rolling again like the last one!
