    Congrats!

Hopefully the Heisman curse continues for guys in big games!

Think you can contend with that SEC speed?

What a win! Eddie Allen with the Lamar Jackson on the Ravens type performance haha, more oomph throwing the ball than passing it, but just enough to keep Ohio State off balance. All your updates are really top notch, the aesthetics of your posts are fantastic. I love the newspaper style looks that you give for your game recaps, and the USA Today tables on the weekly recaps and awards and everything are so clean and concise. Awesome job all around! Not to mention that your recap was fantastic, the 'killer' analogy was great haha. Congrats on the win, and let's see if you can do the same thing to Georgia! It will be interesting to see how your defensive strategy has to change, as you'll have to stop a superstar quarterback from beating you through the air this time rather than a superstar running back on the ground.

Yeah I really hope they give us a good game. I want Coach Clark to have a great record when it's all said and done, and so taking advantage of this opportunity is Job 1, however, I don't want it to be handed to me like if the CPU just plays bad that day. I will do more prep for this one than any other game though. It's been tough for me to get this far, as you've seen (now 1-4 in Conference Championship games or whatever), so we need to really take advantage of this opportunity.

We're going to find out. All of our speed deficiencies are largely on offense now, where E. Allen simply finds a way to dredge up some points somehow some way. So it could be a big deal or maybe it won't be.

I type in a lot of nutty stuff that I hope someone reads and gets kick out of , thanks Moose.

Allen is a good all around QB and has an accurate arm, we just don't have receivers that can get open this year. Last year he ran for I think 750 or so yards, and threw for if I had to say 3,000 or so, with a very good TD/INT ratio and 64% completions. This year the ratio and completion % is inferior to before and he's had to run for a lot more yards. He finds a way to get it done, that's what I like about him. He's not a QB that gets tired after a carry or two - and I've had plenty of those. He doesn't fumble very often. He powers through tackle attempts at the MOST opportune times or slips them, etc. rather than when there's 3 other guys waiting to hit him. Just little observations I've made.

Thanks Miles! I'm hyped to see a new dynasty of yours on the board and wish you the best (most fun possible) with it.

Got my popcorn ready for the Title Game, Helli, best of luck! Congrats on a wonderful season to this point, especially taking it to tOSU after the heartbreak of last year. All around your team is simply fascinating to me, as it seems to be a real group effort. Awesome stuff. Can't wait to see Georgia and their star-studded squad.

Nice to see some reaffirmation about Clark's desire to stay at Iowa, I was also beginning to wonder if Coach Clark was Jonesing for a new home or challenge. Hopefully title number one will be the start of a great new dynasty you're building with the Hawkeyes.

I mean winning a championship could see a big time offer come out of the woodwork!

I think what you mean by 'group effort' may involve not the best ratings, and yeah, that is mostly due to the custom improvement. A few players here or there improve more than they could in the real game, but on the whole, I believe I will probably never be better than a B+ or A- and that's once we're KILLING IT on the recruiting trail, which I hope to. I'm limiting myself less and less recruiting wise, with the only major rule being very (VERY) rarely will I ever recruit a total stud that's just being ignored.

I really enjoy Iowa and even though there are almost no uni options (we get creative and change up the socks or shoe colors LOL) I have to admit that my favorite unis in all of sports never, ever change. I really appreciate when you reply, M8

Could be, but I want to continue to make Iowa bigtime more than I want to move anywhere. At least that's how I feel right now. I'm definitely going to keep looking at offers that come in and see how they strike me. Sharps would put money on the Hawkeyes.

                      Preview: BCS National Championship Game

Iowa and Georgia play tomorrow for the right to be called the Champs. This is a battle of 12-1 teams in which the team rated #1 is simply ranked higher due to the fact that they lost first. Expect a tight matchup of opposing styles. The game pits the seven first and second team All Americans from Georgia against three from Iowa, so it will have no shortage of superstar players. One of the biggest stars in any game, Eddie Allen is not an All American, but that doesn't bother Coach J.D. Clark. "I know the All American thing is about numbers. If they had an MVP award I would be pissed if he didn't get that. We lose him and we'd really struggle."

Georgia excel at scoring points. They are ranked #1 in the country in scoring, and have Heisman winning quarterback Calvin Sanders taking snaps from under center. The signal caller has no weaknesses to his game. He has the smarts, the arm, the physical skills to run for 1,000 yards if that's what he had wanted to do. Instead, he ran for 366 yards. Still, around the goal line, look for him to head for the chains if nobody's open, as he has 10 touchdowns. They have few if any weaknesses on paper or in execution. However, if Sanders were to go down, Isaac Fountain (70 OVR, 56 SPD) would step in. That is the one area where Georgia are very careful, and probably explains the lack of carries for Sanders to some degree. In a game that counts like this one does, look for him to potentially run more than he has all year, and if injury strikes, Iowa would have the upper hand in that scenario. Other than that possibility, look for Georgia to be very difficult to stop. Still, the points aren't the only thing Georgia have going for them. Let me introduce you to my friend, "turnover margin." He's a +16, good for #2 in the nation. He's KIND OF A BIG DEAL.. The Bulldogs are also third best in the nation in total passing yards allowed. It could be a long day on both sides of the ball for Iowa.

The key for Iowa on offense will be whether the offensive line can get any push against a solid but not totally spectacular defensive front. The linebackers are very good but the defensive ends can be pushed around just a little depending on who they're lining up against. Iowa will need to make some big plays on the ground, and they'll be looking for Allen to pick his spots and hopefully break one or two if possible. Allen will have to be very careful with the football, possibly throw some passes away, and try to avoid interceptions against a defensive backfield that is exceedingly dangerous. The Hawkeyes will rely on their #10 overall yards allowed defense to come up with solutions to Sanders and company. They will mix up formations and hopefully not drop any interceptions that come their way. That is one very minor weakness for Sanders - He's thrown 14 interceptions. Not horrible, but not invulnerable.

                        BCS Championship Pregame

                        Coach Clark Delivers Pregame Speech

"Let's keep this short and sweet. We lost a bad game early this year and then we started winning. At some point when we had some momentum, you came to me and said you had a theme. That theme was FINISH. You knew in your heart what this team could do. Let me tell you something. You picked a great theme. It's an idea that applies to life just as much as it does to this football team. Finish that degree. Finish getting the job or earning the promotion. Here today we have the chance to make good on your theme. The theme of the 2020 Iowa Hawkeyes. It wasn't enough to just beat Ohio State and win the Big Ten. That just got us here. The theme was still applicable. It's applicable to every single play of the game. But as soon as the game was over, it was expanded to now. To this.

What we want here today is a measured crescendo. Don't get yourself winded and pumped up too much before the game. Don't play careful or tight, but don't try to win this game in the first quarter either. Rely on your coaches, and we'll rely on you. Most of all, do your job and complete your assignments. O line, don't try to knock them down before getting your hands on them. Get there then finish. Then push. Keep your feet under you. Defensive guys, read your keys and communicate. Get down to the basics. We've studied the film. We know how they're going to attack. What they're capable of. What we're capable of. Once we start getting ramped up and building this thing I want you to detonate these guys. Detonate this entire *$%*(&! stadium.

I want to see the most physical game of the season played here, today, on this stage.

Each and every one of those kids the fans wave to every week will be watching this game. Play for yourself, your family, your school, and all the people who believe in us. You came to me and said "finish." I couldn't be more proud of you boys or the season you've authored. This is it.

                        Let's Go."

I wrote this speech a little bit to myself as well as the imaginary data bits. One last semester starts Monday to make good on 20 years of regret, quitting and defeat
