Is there an easy fix for skinny arms fix for offline dynasties?
Really sick of the skinny arms that occur in offline dynasty, hoping there is an easy fix now. Just started playing again after a few years of madden.Tags: None -
Re: Is there an easy fix for skinny arms fix for offline dynasties?
Yes, very easy, go to edit roster under team management tab, go to position of interest, choose the player, and there's 4 tabs you can edit under,
(1) name, position, handedness, player #
(2) height, weight, face, etc and underneath that are sliders from 0-100, the bigger the number the bigger the arms, or chest, rear end, thighs, calves, and feet I believe (0=skinny arms, 100=huge arms)
(3) player equipment
(4) player ratings
hope this helps, let me know if there's more questions!! -

Just want to make sure I understand. I don't actually have to edit the player, I can just go into edit and exit save?
Originally posted by mm boost^ that's not what he is referring to. The skinny arm glitch that gives all running backs stick arms, even if you have them set to 100.
From what I heard, if you edit a running back, never touch any of their physical attributes because this basically "resets" it. You will still get the skinny arm glitch sometimes, but you also have the chance of getting some stocky running backs. I always just edit their uniform and accessories, and never touch their attributes.Comment

Re: Is there an easy fix for skinny arms fix for offline dynasties?
I'm fairly alert to things like this, I used to hate the "bare armed freaks" that that occurred in old versions of the game, I think for some reason only default players could have any equpiment and recruits could not.... I've never had an issue with this, at all. I've reviewed pictures of a lot of my running backs over the years and have experienced zero issues with it. This includes players I've never edited at all, and one (Bully Filoteo, biggest arms possible) that I edited his appearance to match his stats as a JUCO 1-star bruiser running back/fullback. I had to make him slightly heavier to get a realistic looking face for his name, etc... Completely edited guy, no issues with his arm appearance.Comment

Huh, so it's the opposite of Madden's very stocky legs. Wonder how long this glitch has been in the base code.Originally posted by mm boost^ that's not what he is referring to. The skinny arm glitch that gives all running backs stick arms, even if you have them set to 100.

Go up to 201, go back to 200. You don’t have to exit. You will see the model change appearance. I do this for everyone. I don’t like seeing a 249lb DE with the build of a 290. So by resetting, the model will appear how the build is set up. For some reason the computer generates differently than what the build says. I stumbled on this accidentally and glad I have.

Originally posted by mm boostI have changed weight on a lot of guys and never noticed this. I will give it a shot tonight.
Have you tried this for guys that currently have the skinny arm glitch? To see if it resets and goes back to having larger arms?
It is very subtle on smaller players. I have seen it work on a linebacker and lineman who had the arm glitch. I have not come across a RB with it yet.
* Also, I do all of my edits in game.

Re: Is there an easy fix for skinny arms fix for offline dynasties?
Originally posted by mm boostahhh the issue you're talking about and the running back issue is 2 different issues.
tight ends, d ends and lineman are big as hell. You have to maximize/minimize the sliders. Save, and then come back in and readjust, and they will be smaller.
The running back glitch...on the edit screen, the running back looks jacked with big arms, but when you start the game, he looks annorexic. Has plagued this game for YEARS. The only fix I have found, and its hit or miss, is to not touch the physical attributes of the running backs and only edit their equipment.
Hmm. Gotcha. Thought it was all the same. I just got back into playing again after a long break. re-learning all that was wrong lol.

You can use the editor to change arm size:
Arm definition is always set to 10.
BSATArm size gives you the following options-
1-skinny arms
4-cut with a little mass
5-cut with more mass than 4 but not jacked
15-super jacked
21-Big arms that look natural for lineman
24-some definition more mass (power RB,FB,LB, rush DE)
25-athletic frame with mass (RB,TE,LB or big WR/DB)Comment

Re: Is there an easy fix for skinny arms fix for offline dynasties?
Thanks for this. Similar to my findings. I'm just getting back into this and trying to find old documents with my old 'how to' info. I'm not having a lot of luck with the EA editors where you have to load a config, but the other dynasty editor (13... the purple and yellow icon one - sorry I'm away from my PC with details on it) has loaded and worked fine. My problem is I can't remember how to make global edits specific to positions. How do I load just the HB's etc.?You can use the editor to change arm size:

As far as workarounds without the editor - for my own team I would always sign a one-star DT for each HB I signed and then swap their details so I could edit their appearance and then cut the DT as soon as possible. No in-game workaround for your opponent's HBs, unfortunately. It's actually the only thing I really use the editor for - just fixing arms. It has always bugged me.Comment
