Well its not a step below D-1 Football that is for sure.
More than 70% of the guys on AAF rosters have played or have been on a NFL roster.
Only about 5% of D-1 players make the NFL.

Give the offenses a couple more weeks together and the play will be better. Also you are wrong about converting onside kicks.
The NFL average on onside kicks was 7.5% this year.
While converting 4th and 12 in the NFL was about 22%.
