Can you play coach mode on an offline franchise?

I don't own the game but the last thread on this indicate coach mode didn't work properly because one player on defense had to be controlled.

That is only if you had a player highlighted that wasn't a defensive lineman.

Which, as a coach mode player, I hate as well. When you have a player highlighted on the DLine, he wont get a jump start like the rest of the line so he's at a disadvantage. So when I'm a team with all DLinemen that are really good, I kind of have to "sacrifice" one since he just won't be as good as the others on any given play.

It's just something I live with since I enjoy playing the game.

As coach mode player..on defense, I highlight normally the Mike..and just hold LB (for Xbox).

Do you then have to control the player?

No just hold the LB button..player controls himself..the only pain is you have to hold down that button
