Call the Game

A new attribute for catchers should be the ability to call the game. The pitcher and catcher relationship is so important in baseball. MLB the show needs to capture that. Yankees last year had a situation where one catcher was better for pitching and the other was better at hitting. Im thinking that should be implemented into the game some how. what do you guys think about that.

I like it. For a long time I've wished catchers had more importance. As a user of the API, a game-calling attribute would be so awesome.

I also would like to see pitch framing as well. It's such a big part of the game these days and it would add a lot more strategy to who to pick to be your catcher. Also it would make the game look much more realistic, the way catchers in the game receive balls looks off because in real life catchers are always trying to frame pitches and they just don't in game.

I love using the API, this attribute would have a greater effect on that. Pitch framing yes yes. I thought I was the only one who thought about this.

I'm a for this. I would like to maybe even see pitch framing make it in. Although this unlikely because I think this would PO the DD online competitive crowd.

Im so over the online people and the my player people build the game the franchise mode ...its the bread winner its the foundation of all games of sports. all these individualizing modes make me sick. I want realistic gameplay and franchise play.

Sorry I should be more clear on my point. I don't think they wouldn't add pitch framing because it would P-off the online crowd for no reason. The online crowd is just sensitive to anything that adds a random variable and takes away user control as it should be for competitive. With SDS wanting to move into e-sports I could see this being a problem

I agree that this is needed but Gray was just as good behind the plate as romine last year it's not a great example

I don't know what year it was.. but I remember someone was struggling putting a catcher in place. sorry I didn't present a better example

I'm thinking ps5 before any added attributes. Hopefully Show 20 will be ps5 and I'll upgrade for Show 21.

I mean all catchers I've found are equally terrible calling the game. I'll have a guy up there with at least 3 plus pitches and 2 more pitches he can throw for strikes consistently, all with medium to high confidence, and the catcher keeps calling for the number 1. Batter hits my last number 1 10,000 feet but foul? They call the number 1 again. I've had to shake them off because it's like no I'm going to throw a breaking ball here to see if I can get him to swing early.
