    Frustrated With Broken Mentor System

It's really annoying that the mentor system was advertised as a new feature for this year, and it doesn't even work.

I have tried multiple times to have Rajon Rondo mentor Trae Young in both Floor General and Dimer. According to the system (specifically the graphs that show progression), Young is supposed to learn both badges by end of the season (Floor General in full, and bronze level Dimer).

No matter how many times I try to get it to work, Young never learns the badges. I have also tried many other players and can't get the mentor system to actually do what it says it's going to do.

PLEASE FIX THE PLAYER MENTOR SYSTEM!

I'm guessing they are nearly done with patches for 2k19 unfortunately.

I hope that for 2K20 franchise modes they prioritized fixing and refining what they already have rather than continue to add more features that may not work as intended.

Yea it's unfortunate that it doesn't work, 2k has so many great features but they don't work as fully advertised lol, but the best workaround is to just do it manually as that's what I do at the end of every season.

I just set it and check back every once in a while and when the looks like it gets there I just edit the badge. No cheating, and a pretty easy work around.

I do the same thing. I'm in year 4 now and the mentorship has been hit or miss. Not sure if that's by design or a bug. I go with bug though considering how many there are in ML. 2K really needs to go over MyLeague with a fine tooth comb. Between the Gleague progression, and close shot bug and this, it's a bit much. Sure, we have the tools to fix it, but we shouldn't have to.

I feel like a lot of what's going on with the mentorship feature is a product of it being a bit buggy and it being a design choice... I don't think that the mentorship should automatically give the mentee badges everytime because image how OP it could be... There are plenty of times in real life where older players mentor younger players and it doesn't amount to much and could actually make a player worse (see Jayson Tatum being mentored by Kobe last summer)... Frankly I think a player should be able to get badges, attribute upgrades and even certain special move sets from a mentor potentially... And there should be a chance that it fails... If anything the feature is a little underpowered since it rarely works so it might be a balancing issue 🤷🏿*♂️... We should also be able to commission retired players to mentor younger players (we used to be able to send players to specific camps ran by legends last gen)... There are a lot of ways this could go imo... It's kinda bare bones as is

It's not a "bit buggy," it's broken. The system straight up lies about what it's doing. The player mentorship graphs show if and when a player will earn a badge, and they aren't ever accurate because players will never learn the badges like the graph says they will. The only time the graphs appear to work is when a player was scripted to learn a badge anyway, which might make some players think that the mentorship system is working, but it's not.

And actually, the Kobe Bryant/Jayson Tatum mentorship in real life worked exactly as it should have -- Tatum now takes terrible, contested mid-range jumpers and doesn't pass the ball as much (2K needs badges for that)

Yeah it’s a shame. They made some great additions for 2k19 my league but they couldn’t execute - all we can do is hope for 2k20 to be better.

This is just pure false advertising.
