So ironically enough I'm hitting enough home runs with my power guys at least, but the rest of my should be hits are finding fielders more times than not. I'm hoping I've just hit a bad stretch and will not have to dive into the sliders.

Re: Power Outage?
I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I've only hit one homer out of like 20 games. It wasn't a bomb either. Just a hard liner by Judge that barely snuck over the RF wall at Fenway. I don't know what's wrong with me. It wasn't an issue at all last year. This year I'm "late" a majority of the time and haven't been able to really drive anything. Most of my hits are opposite field.Braves | Titans | VolunteersComment

I swear their is a timing/frame skipping issue this year. Same reason so many opposite field hits are happening despite good timing and good contact.Comment

Re: Power Outage?
That said, I am not hitting too many HR's, but I am hitting some. In my opinion, and my opinion only, the game runs great and plays even better. I have not had any desire to touch the sliders, and with my early franchise start, I am right at .500. So, for me, The Show '19 is rockin' on all cylinders.Comment

There is probably going to be a few patches before all is said and done anyways. Not too worried about it.Comment

I'm at a poewr loss but I'm also still experimenting with different camera angles while batting. I am sure I'll get the hang of hitting in 19.T-BONE.

Re: Power Outage?
I have played enough games now to know for a fact this is an issue. The problem is that most of my hard hits are on slightly late or late hits. My hitters just are not driving the ball when they pull it. Either lazy fly balls or week grounders. If I am even remotely late I am driving the ball at 100 plus exit velo. I remember this being a problem in '17 as well and definitely needs to be looked at. In 20 games in the last two days I have got exactly two home runs despot racking up a ton of doubles, singles, and runsComment

Re: Power Outage?
Not for me there is not, nor am I having any of these opposite field hit problems. The more I play, the more I am hitting the ball all over the place...on the field, off the field...you name it. And that is due to my poor timing when swinging...I get distracted easily.......squirrel!!

My experience is the spray chart is very balanced. I don't see an issue with too many opposite field hits nor a lack of power/exit velocity on pulled hits.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: Power Outage?
Here we go, a bit of a essay incoming! But something is off with hitting, at least in offline DD, I cannot speak for other offline modes like franchise. Everything I hit goes to the opposite field, or maybe center, regardless of timing or even at times, PCI placement. I don’t know whether the issue is the hitting system, or the feedback system, or if I’m fundamentally just not understanding how it should work, but good timing hits just aren’t being pulled at all.
This is all from just one game, a conquest game against the Yankees on rookie.
First up this power swing from Acuna, on a hanging changeup, right down the middle. Squared up and timed well, goes to straight away center but can’t even reach the warning track. Alright, not every smashed ball should be a homer, but that really feels like it has to be pulled, a very, very long way. Oh well, these things happen.
Next up is DJ Lemaheiu, the man who this games hitting engine seems to have been built around. Good timing, squared up, limp line drive to straight away right field? Honestly felt I was late on that ball, so maybe it’s the feedback wrong on that one, but still, “good” timed balls shouldn’t be going to straight away right, if I was just late, say just late.
Now to show I’m not being bitter, here’s a lovely homer with Wilson Ramos. Terrible pitch, meatball right down the middle that I crush, good timing, just a bit below the ball so not perfect. But why does it go to right center? Surely if I’ve timed that well I should be pulling it? Left center at worst. Sure, maybe the best hitters might be aiming dead centerfield, but the vast majority are looking to pull the ball for power.
High fastball to ozuna, he goes up and gets it, timed well, but to right centerfield again?
Low fastball to Cain, timed well, says I squared it up but to be honest I’m outside the ball a bit, so should be pulling it towards the leftfielders, maybe even down the line. But nope, straight away centerfield. (not to mention the complete lack of power for an apparently “squared up” ball)
This time it’s Matt Chapman’s turn. Meatball, timing good, “squared up” (actually a bit outside it again), weak linedrive to right field. Looking at the feedback, you’d expect that ball to be soaring towards leftfield, maybe just under it so possibly a flyout, but it’s gone in the opposite direction?

This is probably the worst of the bunch. It’s the oppo hit machine, DJ again. This time I take a terrible swing, thinking the ball is going on the outside corner, it isn’t. Somehow, despite swinging well below and outside of the ball, with good timing, I hit a ground ball the opposite way? Look at that feedback and tell me how it ends up going where it did? Answers on a postcard.
Honestly, I don’t know what’s going on, I could post 100 of these if I wanted to. Personally, I feel like I’m a little late on a fair few of them, I am struggling to adjust still after not playing in months, but the game reckons I’m timing it fine. If I swing earlier then I get a “just early” and pull the ball foul. It just seems like the timing window is off, or the players aren’t trying to pull the ball for good timing?Comment

Re: Power Outage?
Is that the usual with this game? Do they patch it so it fixes issues?

Not the same issue, but here he is something else that seems off about the feedback vs the end result.

This illustrates nicely everything wrong with the hitting right now. No power on obvious good contact, and pushing to opposite field too much. Good post.Comment

Re: Power Outage?
I've hit quite a few homeruns after I adjusted. Its definitely more difficult this year. But I hit three last game as the Yankees on legend. Voit, Hicks, Judge.
I like how it's more difficult to get home runs.

Re: Power Outage?
Here's a video from the replay vault of the game I just finished against the Astros in Spring Training. Out of 24 balls put into play, only 4 were to the opposite field.

I don't know if there is something within DD that is causing issues that BigOscar is experiencing, but its not universal, at least not in my experience. The spray chart in '19 feels no different than it did in '18.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
