Franchise Mode Notes

In franchise, I suggest making the following changes to sliders when simming games:
-starter stamina: 4
-reliever stamina: 4
-injuries: 9
-manager hook: 0

I suggest using the following trade frequency settings:
April & May: 1
June-July 15th: 3
July 15th-July 31st: Max
Rest of Season: 5
Offseason & Spring Training: 6

However, one thing I noticed right away is that--regardless of trade frequency slider setting--teams will trade a lot early in the season. I use 30-team control, so what I did, and what I would suggest others do, is set CPU teams trading to "manual" for April and May.

For drafted players, I would suggest making edits during the offseason as The Show's draft logic/player generation is still a bit off (based on what I've seen in the CPU draft thread).

I will be doing the following:
-If RP/CP is selected in rounds 1-3, I will convert them to SPs.
-For the top 10 picks, if the player is 21 or older, OVR = potential - 20
-For the top 10 picks, if the player is under 21, OVR = potential - 30

For the first 2 rounds, I will try to make sure players project to fit into the following archetypes:
-Power hitter
-Contact hitter
-Balanced/All-Around hitter
-5 tool player (top picks)
-Strikeout pitcher
-Control pitcher
-Groundball pitcher
-Balanced pitcher

Rating Process & Methodology

Hitting and Fielding
-Contact ratings are based on AVG

-Power ratings are based on ISO and HR%

-Vision ratings are based on K%

-Discipline ratings are based on BB%

-Durability ratings are based on the league average games played per MLB season (102 games) for all position players



-Fielding ratings (arm accuracy, reaction and fielding ability) are position specific; catchers, infielders and outfielders are all rated differently.

-RDRS (Baseball Info Solutions Defensive Runs Saved Above Average) is factored into the calculations, which makes position specific adjustments. Statcast's OAA (Outs Above Average) is used for outfielders.

Pitchers
-Per 9 ratings are based on the per 9 statistics.

-Stamina is based on innings/appearance

-Pitch repertoires are up to date as of 2018 season

-Pitch ratings are based on the last 3 years of pitch data available

-Pitch control is based on strike percentage, with an adjustment for pitches that were thrown out of the strike zone and missed i.e. pitchers will benefit from those strikes

-Movement is based on whiff%

-If a pitcher’s primary pitch is a sinker, it remains a sinker

-If a pitcher uses a sinker but it is not his primary pitch, it is listed as a two-seamer. This helps sinkerballers stand out.

-Brooks Baseball's pitch descriptions were used to influence what pitches were used.

Been following both your thread and CRP Thread closely. Don't think I am going to purchase the game until your rosters are released. your work is always incredible and makes the game so realistic. Going to suck waiting but I know it will be worth it. Thanks again for the time and effort on this, much appreciated.

Yes. I will release a 25 man and a 40 man. The 40 man may not necesserily be spot-on in terms of accuracy, but it will be ready to go.

Looks like OSFM might come out soon. Do you know what bass you’re going to use? I think you’re going to be the first (only) legit re-rated Roster so it would be worth waiting on OSFM.

Hopefully SDS releases the OD update on Friday and it fixes Acuna and Gurriel.

Then niner is gonna start importing for the CRP base.

Do you adjust speed with these rosters? I remember seeing a scale using statcast with a different roster and was just wondering how/if you change it.
