Fenway Mac 2019 Legend/HOF Hybrid Sliders

Fenwaymac 2019 sliders are now live in the vault. you will find them under:

2019 Fenwaymac HOF Sliders and 2019 Fenwaymac Legend Hybrid

Here is the link to all of my game stats. As I progress through the season, check back in to see how these sliders results are playing out. I track individual game stats, and then in the top rows have season averages for those stats. Please let me know if you have any questions!

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

Goal: My goal with all of my slider sets is to try to zone in the results of the games to closely match certain MLB statistics such as hit type percentages, pitching percentages (first pitch %, overall pitch percentage%) as well as FB/LD/GB%. I also work to make sure that scoring plays vary as well, not just singles and home runs.

I wanted to create something that worked for a larger group of players this year so I created both a pure HOF slider set, and well as a Legend Pitching/ HOF hitting hybrid for those needing a bit of an extra challenge. Bring your A game and don't get lazy or the CPU will make you pay!

Here are the settings. I will have much more to add about how tested these through, but for now:

Legend settings are in red. Make sure to change your gameplay pitching settings to LEGEND if you choose to plug these in. Same if you download from the vault.

Somewhat, but I have been screwed by the catcher one too many times. In Legend pitching I mostly call my own game and really do my best to keep the CPU off-kilter.

Re: Fenway Mac 2019 Legend/HOF Hybrid Sliders

I played 3 games on with these using directional and classic. I just started using classic on when I’m pitching. I was always using Trail on but this makes pitching a little more difficult for me. The Brewers are 2-1 to start the year. I won 14-5 and 6-0 and then lost the 3rd game 5-3.

          CPU offensive stats:
          Avg: .274
          HR: 2 (0.7 per game)
          BABIP: .303
          Walks: 2 per game
          K’s: 5.3 per game
          Fly ball: 32%
          Line Drive: 24%
          Ground ball: 44%

          Extra base hits: 3.8%
The cpu has 86% of their hits being singles but their first two games they hit 12 singles and 2 HR so that kind of skewed the results so far.

I am not seeing a lot of strikeouts so far but the CPU has a 20% swing and miss rate and I have 25%.

My offensive stats are kind of messed up cause I started the season with pitch speeds at 3 cause I always struggled with hitting on hall of fame. But I’m hitting like crazy so I’m going back to 5. So hopefully my offensive stats even out.

Re: Fenway Mac 2019 Legend/HOF Hybrid Sliders

Just a heads up that I made a few tweaks to the slider set that I feel make a pretty significant change.

1), I have dropped HUM Power to 5. I felt a little uncomfortable with the high number of doubles and HR’s coming at 6 and also how the extra velocity seemed to limit hit variation. I have used 5 for five preseason games to see if I can still hit homeruns at 5 and timing 4. The answer is yes, you have to hit it just right, but they are still there. I recommend the switch.

2), fielder speed to 3. Same reason, way too many balls dropping in front of and getting behind outfielders.

            3. Strike Ratio to 5. I felt the COU was painting far too often and deduced this was because I had the slider st 4 which would make the try to nibble the edges more to get me to chase rather than coming at me. Don’t worry this is just a balance at 5 which is better.

I have not updated the first post yet or the vault, but think those changes are imminent. Give em a go and let me know if it feels better!

Are you seeing enough cpu sac flies? They had one and even the announcer said a routine Sac fly and the runner didn’t go.

Hmm, maybe a slow runner? I am not opposed to lowering arm strength but I need a larger sample first.

Starting regular season tomorrow and will post all my game stats, so we can keep an eye on this one, and other categories as well for potential adjustments.

I’ll lower arm strength one and play several games and let you know. I feel if we increase running speed we will have to increase the infield arm strength. So maybe lowering OF arm strength will be the easy fix.

Opening day is in the books!

A close game but I learned quickly not to throw a two-seamer with Sale. I have my tracking spreadsheet that I will link to the OP this evening. For now here is the box.

Just an update to let you know that I have updated post #1 with a link to my Excel team stats sheet. I update this sheet after every game and it posts individual game stats as well as combined stat averages for the season.

Stats I am tracking for both Hum and CPU

                        games played
                        runs scored
                        singles hit %
                        doubles hit %
                        triple hit %
                        home run hit %
                        avg
                        BABIP
                        first pitch %
                        overall pitch%
                        foul ball %
                        swing and miss %
                        fly ball/line drive/ground ball ratio

I’m looking to use these with directional hitting / meter pitching. Because you use zone, and other people on here like A&S use directional, what do you think I should copy from them and integrate into yours?

I’m thinking of using A&S sliders for human contact/power/timing/foul frequency/solid hits, and mirror all of the other settings with yours. Think that would produce similar results?

Also, is it too easy throwing strikes with meter pitching? Got used to classic however would love to go back to meter, but I’m afraid of being able to throw strikes whenever I want and never have an outing where I just struggle to find the zone.

I have never used directional so it is really hard to speak for or against certain settings. I would have to plug the stats after a decent sample to see how they play out. But People love A&S and the experience that goes into those sliders, so I would feel pretty safe saying those particular sliders you indicate would be fine using directional.

As for meter pitching, I definitely have games where I simply cannot locate, and lowering control and consistency help that...especially when the starter is fatigued after a couple trips around the rotation. For more challenge though you can always decrease the meter bar or close one eyeball

Yeah I figured that those few individual sliders are the ones that would change depending on which hitting style you use. Other than that, I believe that the game should play out similar to the way yours are. And I’m glad to hear that meter pitching isn’t as easy as just hitting the little line to get perfect accuracy!

I’ll test these out today and let you know how they did for me.
