    Vision / Discipline / Clutch

Do these rating actually matter as to how well your hitter is going to perform?

In played games no. However the clutch rating will give you better hits when runners are on base. If you are a heavy simmer though these ratings are super important. This year I have been training hitting coach exclusively and my minor leaguers with low contact and power are absolutely raking.

I play a lot of manage only mode so I assumed they'd be important for that mode if I'm not controlling the hitter myself.

Doesnt better vision make for a better timing window?

I believe vision effects how large your PCI is. More vision means larger PCI means easier to make contact. Discipline's only gameplay effect that I know of is to modify chance of success when you attempt to check your swing. And higher clutch basically helps you with runners on base, but I'm not sure what the practical in-game effects are. When simming, I'm sure vision and discipline take on more significance, but I'm not sure exactly how.

I would think discipline would mean the ability to judge balls and strikes and take walks.

You aren't correct caufield. The higher the vision the larger the PCI

Yes these are Benificial in manage only mode as that is considered a simulation

Right. But if you're playing, you're the one who's judging and making the decisions. I don't simulate except for the minors, so I can really only speak to in-game effects when you're the one playing. As I said, I'm sure discipline and vision take on more significance when the CPU is in control, and I'd be happy for someone who knows better to explain how that works.

This may be a coincidence, and I’m sure I’m wrong..but I walk way more with Carlos Santana and Jake Bauers, who have really high discipline ratings

Re: Vision / Discipline / Clutch

Even in directional, vision makes the invisible pci bigger.

Clutch increases contact and power ratings with runners on base. Makes you more likely to successfully drive in runners.

Discipline will make your check swings be more effective.

All of the above while you control the hitter. This is my experience at least when comparing low rated RTTS player vs high rated RTTS player.

Yeah but Santana is also a way more dangerous hitter according to ratings in the game, so the pitchers are probably pitching around him a bit more

Vision, along with contact, changes the size of the PCI. Discipline, along with pitcher ratings, makes them more prone to throwing balls. Clutch, I think it helps with PCI as well with RISP. If I'm remembering correctly...
