The 2019 Original Hybrid

No the roster isn’t complete yet.

Teeds, myself and Mattchu are currently heading up bringing back the Hybrid Roster this year.

We got back to work when the Hybrid team from last year had announced they weren’t planning on doing a roster this year which of course has changed. We wish those guys well with their roster this year which has a thread called Simulation Roster.

We have actually been working on a roster project similar to this last summer and hope to have a release as soon as we can get this completed.

That is what brings us to this point in the thread. As in the past we are looking for some reliable community members to volunteer their time and assist in bringing the Hybrid to fruition.

For those unfamiliar with what the Hybrid brings to the table, do the following;

Complete full roster rerate, including potential

Equipment updates

We try to use the best faces for each created player, whether that comes from another roster such as the Full Minors or creations in the Vault or for the most part our own creating or tweaking of faces.

We do not overwrite any SCEA players that came with the game

We add in pitch edits

Try to have the best mix of AAA, AA rosters and prospects

Motion/Stance adjustments

All of this will give amazingly realistic gameplay and players.

If you are interested in participating in making this roster a reality sooner than later please let myself or Teeds know.

We look forward to bringing our Hybrid back to the MLB the Show community.

Will you be doing a full re rate on all the pitchers? Their ratings are horrible imo. Most of the starters k ratings are in the 50-60s. It’s insane how bad they are. I’m sorry but if a guy has a 8 k9 his rating shouldn’t be 62

Oh boy. SO excited! Love that there are so many roster options this year! Means I can have plenty of unique franchise experiences Is WTNY gonna get in on this?

If you guys need anything, let me know. I don't have too much free time but can always try to help when I can. My strength in terms of baseball knowledge would have to be with prospects.

Yes, all ratings will be redone including pitcher repertoire. I’m still updating everything for this season. We are essentially updating everything... minor leaguer ht/wt, most current primary and secondary positions, face edits, etc. Willard has been creating like a mad man while I’ve been away on vacation.

WTNY is not involved as he’s getting his baseball fix elsewhere and we miss him dearly. However, we are using an updated version of the OS Realism roster he and I put out a couple years ago and his ratings and methodology will still carry on with this release.

By all means, share whatever knowledge you can to improve accuracy. And this applies to everyone. We’ll take help as editing this deeply always leads to varying degrees of burnout.

Any batting stance and pitching motion men or women out there? Do you like to peruse milb.com and YouTube? Willard and I both attest that this would be of great help. This would be mainly for prospects and minor leaguers. It would save us some time in the long run.

Also we have decided while we may lose story lines - we are not going to use the new roster with Vlad Jr as a base - the face they used is just not good enough to have to redo all the imports that have been done so far.

Really looking forward to bringing this roster back to the OS community

I wish I could help but unfortunately I don’t have much free time.. the fun of being a father!

And I wouldn’t worry about storyline of VGJr as I don’t think there’s any unfortunately. After first game I tested during the season. Not one mention or anything about him. Just a stale diggin in is Bla bla and his lines from the game that’s it. No mention of his debut or being the top prospect or whatever. So adding a facescan that isn’t him was a waste of time unfortunately. Making us roster makers wait for nothing. Even Tatis and Alonso I can live with.

Looking to pack the roster with minor league depth to last for years and give people options as to how they want to stack their organization.
