Re: AEW Discussion Thread
His voice over work in NJPW was fine. Not horrible, not great. That wasn't his problem in NJPW. His live stuff was some of the worst I have ever seen. Like for the NJPW show in Dallas 3 years ago, he had a full binder in front of him for the call and still constantly screwed up wrestlers and storylines. Now you wanna say that's because he wasn't comfortable with the production staff and stuff fine. Now go back and watch the first Mae Young Classic he called alongside Lita where he was working with a company he had worked for over 15 years. It was just as bad as the live NJPW Dallas show.Comment

Re: AEW Discussion Thread
This is a hot take and I'm probably an ******* for thinking it, but I really hope once this TV deal starts in Sept/Oct that all AEW is exclusive to AEW. My interest in the company will be a lot lower if I can see the Lucha Bros working for 18 different feds like they already are, or Kylie Rae and Bea Priestley working for the 6/7 feds they are working for in Japan/Europe.
They have a ton of talent signed, and there's no way they can use everyone every week. So I'm sure guys will be working indy shows Fri-Sun as usual, at least.Comment

Re: AEW Discussion Thread
I feel like early on they confirmed that it was gonna be similar to how Impact does it. Guys can work the indies, but AEW will have first priority on dates.

Yea it’s not gunna work that way. It’s already been confirmed once TV starts that the Lucha Bro’s are USA exclusive to AEW. So they can keep working AAA and other feds in Mexico but they can’t work Impact, PWG, etc.

Joey Janela said he's still gonna do his GCW shows tho. So it seems like it's a case by case thing.Comment

Re: AEW Discussion Thread
And for reference, Impact who has been in business for 15 years charged $40 on PPV for their show. So it is around the going rate for wrestling shows, I have 0 idea what boxing or UFC (used to) charge for their shows.Comment

Re: AEW Discussion Thread
49.99 would be a decent price. That’s below what WWE and UFC charge.

Re: AEW Discussion Thread
At least they don't have to worry about the blowback for raising the price on their second PPV. Just getting it over with up front.

Re: AEW Discussion Thread
It's $60.
I want to see what it is after TV debuts and they establish themselves...if they don't lower that price, their buy rates are going to be really low. WWE and UFC are only at times worth that price.Too Old To Game Club
