Everybody's Golf VR is Polished
Man just a quick couple of holes before bed and this game is very well done. After shot camera angles are mind blowing. For those who have the game press square after your shot and just watch it fly, press it multiple times for different angles. The caddy is really good for helping you set up your shots. Picking up grass to gauge the wind.Tags: None -
Re: Everybody's Golf VR is Polished
Some quirks I don't like with the MOVE Controllers is drift. Sometimes the club will get out of alignment and you have to shake it to get it straight. The other thing that is defitnitely on me, is I need to maintain my place in the real world. I get to look around and next thing you know I'm out of the center of the camera so I have to reposition myself to get on course. You can walk around a little bit, bend down look at the greens and measure your shot, the only draw back is you have to line yourself up with the camera, but the presence of being on the greens is priceless.
Speaking of presence, the WOW!!! Factor is how beautiful this game is and being able to see all the course and how different they are is wonderful. Everybod's Golf may have 3 courses, but each hole is different and so are the courses.
This game is much more polished than the demo, and I'm playing on the PS4 PRO. This Video doesn't really give you the since of scale you're about to witness but it is remarkable.

Re: Everybody's Golf VR is Polished
I'm really anxious to read reviews or impressions of this game from people who still have the SKLZ Sim Stix, golf club attachment for their Move. This might help steady the drift problem you're describing? I'm just wondering how Everybody's Golf is going to read the motion of the Move, if it is attached to what amounts to a shortened golf club like the Sim Stix?
Tiger Woods 12 and 13 did a surprisingly good job at picking it up on the Sim Stix. I actually fared much better at those two games with the Move and a Sim Stix, than the Move alone. It also felt much more like swinging a golf club, and giving me the added mass to help connect my real golf swing senses to what I was doing.
Here's a link to some information about the SimStix. Click on the thumbnail of the SimStix in the upper part of the page and it takes you to some good close up images of it.

Re: Everybody's Golf VR is Polished
Just played with my friend's SKLZ Simstix and love the feel of it right away. The added weight really helps with my tempo. It's still lighter than an actual club but much better than using the move by itself.I'm really anxious to read reviews or impressions of this game from people who still have the SKLZ Sim Stix, golf club attachment for their Move. I'm not experiencing the drift issue in this game like I do with others, most notably Catch and Release, so I can;t say whether the Simstix helps in that regard.
There is one negative with the stix and that is how long it makes every club feel. In essence it becomes an extension of your arm since the game recognizes the Move controller as the handle of the club. If you look at your hands you will notice how long your arms are now. I don't look at my hands when I swing a golf club so to me, it just feels like my clubs are extra long. Bottom line: this peripheral adds to the immersion of a VR golf game. If you can look past that quirk you will find it enjoyable.
I am very impressed with the full game. The feel, the sounds, the visuals are all top notch and do an excellent job of convincing you that you are on an actual golf course.Comment

Re: Everybody's Golf VR is Polished
Great report! So on the screen the club looks extended because of the added length of the SimStix? I'm surprised the game is programmed to deal with that. I really can't imagine that ClapHanz would have forseen people using the now obsolete SimStix with the game. I guess they had to factor people with longer arms into the game though.Just played with my friend's SKLZ Simstix and love the feel of it right away. The added weight really helps with my tempo. As far as the weight of the SimStix still being light... I bought a roll of lead tape and kept adding it to the housing for the Move until I got a weight that feels comparable to my clubs. It helped a lot.
As for the drift issue that I'm hearing about, the SimStix would seem to afford a way to control the motion more precisely, with a far more ergonomically sound grip.
Are you finding that it's easier to overpower the ball with the added leverage you get with the SimStix. It might actually require that you take some snap out of your wrists to offset it. I know that was the case with it in Tiger Woods 12 and 13. Also, how is the short game with the Move/SimStix?Duke Football? Hell yes it's Duke Football! --- Coach CutcliffeComment

Thanks for the link my fingers are pretty wide and the move just gets in the way. That link states no longer available. I'm thinking the best way to remedy the slim stik too long problem is probably to adjust your height to reflect the length of the slim stik.Just played with my friend's SKLZ Simstix and love the feel of it right away. Re: Everybody's Golf VR is Polished
Right, if you don't look at your hands it will just feel like your clubs have super long shafts. The way some of these clubmakers are going nowadays, this is not all that unrealistic. It's doesn't bother me with the driver but it is a bit odd looking down at a pitching wedge and feel like it's a 5 iron length.Great report! So on the screen the club looks extended because of the added length of the SimStix? I'm surprised the game is programmed to deal with that. If by overpowering the ball you mean turning your wrists over and hitting snap hooks, no. In fact I find hitting a draw at all to be near impossible in the game. The most common miss is a push slice and any time I try to put a little extra mustard on the hot dog, I will hit some of the most wicked slices I've ever seen. I was cruising along at +1 thru 6 holes when I went O.B. on back to back drives to kill my round.
I tried going with a much stronger grip than I normally would and it's worked fairly well but I still think they need to tweak a few things to get that clubface rotation more in sync with your actual movements. So far I can say that the resulting ball flight has felt very close to what I would expect based on the swing I put on the ball and that is very addicting.
The SimStix works just as well in the short game where the extra weight helps in getting some feel into those short shots. I choke way down when putting though. Just get much better feel that way.Comment

Re: Everybody's Golf VR is Polished
I was speaking more in terms of overspeed, but now I can't remember whether Everybody's Golf has >100% or not. In the videos I've watched, it seems like those playing the game are having an easy time getting 100% power, based on what I can see.
I watched one video of a guy playing, where he had an inset camera in the lower right corner showing him swinging the Move. He wasn't taking the club(Move) that far back in his backswing... maybe about 1/4th of what I'd call full and he was getting 100%. He wasn't breaking his wrists that much either. I'm just getting the impression SimStix users won't have any trouble getting 100% on most shots. In fact it's probably going to take a disproportionately short swing to manage partial shots, when needed. But hey, I can adapt.
If you have the clubhead square at impact, yet your swing path has been from inside to outside, will you not produce a hook? In the videos I'm watching, it seems like a lot of players are hooding/closing the clubface at address, and then swinging with an outside/in swing path. I see far more fades and slices in the videos I've watched, most of which would have been worse had the player not hooded the club at address. In fact I find hitting a draw at all to be near impossible in the game. The most common miss is a push slice and any time I try to put a little extra mustard on the hot dog, I will hit some of the most wicked slices I've ever seen. I'm hoping to eventually see a video of someone playing the game with the SimStix, and preferably one showing an inset of the player swing the club in the corner. I'm glad to read that the SimStix is working out well for you in the short game as well. The SimStix works just as well in the short game where the extra weight helps in getting some feel into those short shots. I choke way down when putting though. Just get much better feel that way.
Dang it... all this positive talk has me closer to parting with $320 than I'd like to be at this point!

Do you or anyone else tuned in here happen to know of a retailer where I might be able to walk in and try a PSVR out, preferably with Everybody's Golf? What I like so much more about this being VR is it takes that goofy anime golfer you're usually having to see as you play, to where all you see of yourself is a blue shaded silhouette in a replay view.Duke Football? Re: Everybody's Golf VR is Polished
Received the stilk yesterday and the build quality is outstanding. And, I'm slicing less mainly because the length and a more firm grip. I do understand what the other member is talking about when you go from a driver to a putter the length of those tools change dramatically. I'm going to play around with my height adjustment and choke up on the still.Comment
