Wait. Every character is playable? Interesting.

I really enjoyed Marcus in WD2 and the non-lethal approaches the game allowed you to play as. Legion looks like guns blazing, urban warfare.

I enjoyed the first one and loved the second, but the footage from this game isn't doing it for me. My excitement for WD3 has lessened a lot. I'll give a rent when it comes out in the hopes that it's more fun than it looks.

That's basically where I'm at. Heck, it even looks fun, but not really what I wanted from a new game in this series. I guess I'll just stick with WD2.

Im getting it anyway. I enjoy the series.

Im sure there will be more fun than what theyre showing here. London themes do suck to me though lol.

That's just not a great place to center a game around, and I hope GTA doesn't do it next.

I wasn't too thrilled with the rumors at first, but after seeing it in action and hearing their pitches I am much much more interested in the game. Much more than I was with WD2 and Marcus. From what I've read is that they have 20 unique voices/narratives for playable characters. So while you can play as any of the 9 million NPC's, they are going to have one of the 20 voices/narratives. Obviously it is expected that not all 9 million would have their own voice, narrative, etc. I was hoping that 20 was the absolute minimum they did since it seems you can have 20 active recruits at a time, but I was crossing my fingers they had closer to 40-50. However, all 20 seem like they are getting unique voice lines, it won't be all 20 reading the same script. The cinematics are supposed to be different for each narrative. That still is plenty of replay-ability if done right.

I really hope that their approach is successful. It is new and different. It is innovative and I would love to see more games in the future have as much variability to both the gameplay and story as this game potentially has.

I wouldnt expect 20 million voices. That would be overkill.

To me its more like creating that team of spies, or the A-Team or a bunch of McGuyver's or something crazy.

              Hopefully they have endless possibilities.

This way people can't say "oh i didnt like Marcus" or "i couldnt stand how bland Aiden Pierce was"

              Pick someone else.

I haven't played 2 yet (hoping it comes to Gold or Game Pass but not sure with UPlay whatever they have now). This seems interesting but I'd have to see a lot more to really understand the concept.

I also read somewhere, sorry I will see if I can find it, that they are using audio techniques/ digital tricks to change pitch and tone to each of the real voice actors so I guess they could possibly come up with a ton of "different" voices?

Sorry did not meant to quote the whole post....

Edit: Here is a link to one of the articles I read, will try to find the other.

In most stories, there's a hero. Someone you can root for, empathize with, trust to guide you through their journey's twists and turns. In major game studio AAA action franchises, especially so. Watch Dogs: Legion -- the upcoming third game in the open world hacker series, arriving March 6th 2020 -- does away with all that. From a sprawling, dystopian London you can recruit anyone that you want to be your protagonist to hacking collective DedSec.

I had not read that. If true that will be even better.

So they're also including character customization again. That's insane considering the amount of NPCs we can control.

Looks good. Hopefully it is possible to play without wearing those silly masks, it just makes it a game for 14 year olds (this is not Saints Row 3/4).

2 was awesone! My favorite open world, liked it better than GTA.

If London is as alive as SF but with more traffic, it's going to be great! Going to play some WD1, stil love it, Chicago felt even more like big city than SF, traffic and pedestrian density was great. Both had fun gameplay.

If true, this can be great and open the door for so many other games using this technique.

Also I have talked to the Community Manager and this game will NOT require a persistent online connection.
