Re: NBA 2K20 wishlist thread

Just mentioned this in another thread but as a single player I'd love to see an almost exact NBA replica of the trophy case seen at 3:08 from NFL 2K5:

Having something tangible like that, even if it comes with no additional pomp, circumstance, or unlock, greatly increased replay value. Knowing there was, say, an Anquan Boldin achievement to unlock gave me reason to diversify and utilize different teams.

An NBA 2K20 version could be diverse and variably challenging. "Grab 20 points and 20 rebounds with Andre Drummond". "Score 70 points with Devin Booker". Even better, 2K could attach achievements to all classic teams as well, giving them a purpose beyond random Quick Plays (assuming a Classic mode isn't coming back anytime soon). "2004 Pistons: Hold the 2004 Lakers to 70 points or less (8 min quarter or above required)". "Score 50 points with 1989 Michael Jordan vs. 1989 Detroit Pistons".

Even generic in-game achievements would be nice to have back. Akin to NFL 2K5's "Grab 8 Interceptions", it'd be nice to have trophies or recordable notes of things like "Hit 15 threes in a game", "score 40 points in a quarter", "achieve a triple-double" with dates and teams involved included (Russell Westbrook - Thunder vs. Hawks 11-22-19).

The real dream would be replicating NFL 2K5's "Moments" mode, where gamers could pick from 25 classic moments in NFL history and try to replicate them. For example, re-creating The Drive from 1987 by being thrust into a game situation where John Elway had to drive 98 yards with the clock ticking.

Imagine being able to re-create moments like "Kobe Bryant's Game 2 Buzzer-Beater vs. 2004 Pistons" or "Jordan's The Shot vs. '89 Cavs" or "Klay's 37-Point quarter", "T-Mac's 13-in-35".

Tons of potential there, all while giving classic teams vastly increased relevance. 2K has put so much work into classic teams and players over the years, it'd be a shame not to utilize them for something great.
