What makes the VAR GK thing even worse, is they don't make them re-take ones that the GK commits the infraction on if its made. Which shouldn't be the case. Because the infraction is before the kick. Means the kick doesn't count. But they don't. Which makes the whole thing insanely frustrating.
It still baffles me how incompetent Fox is as a broadcasting company. How is the quality of their broadcasts so ****ty still after all these years? FS1/2 have fine broadcasts. But their main flag ship channel, **** no, that **** looks like your trying to stream online in 1996 using AOL dial-up.
The offside rule must be more complicated than I thought...
Lloyd was well off, and the target of a ball in the box... the defender played the ball under duress...due to Lloyd's run...seconds after its in the net.

And they even took three minutes to look at it, and had the head official go look at it. And they still got it wrong, lol. Sums up the VAR usage in the entire tournament really.
I'm calling it now. This continuous passing back to the defense and goalie that the US keeps doing is gonna bite them in the *** hard if they don't learn how to make better decisions and control the ball. It's driving me crazy. They are very lucky Sweden hasn't capitalized today.
That offside no call is still bugging me...not only because so many people seem to think that Lloyd was not involved in play...but also because they say "the defender played the ball so it negates the offside".
Lloyd makes a move directly at the ball/defender as is within arms reach of the defender...
What on earth is a defender supposed to do in that situation? Give up on the play and hope the flag goes up?
Man, Kerr had the worst game of her career today. But this Norwegian team is legit. I think they will beat England. Well, if England gets past Cameroon. Which I don't think should be too much of an issue. Cameroon barely qualified for the knockouts. But we are talking about an England team, so you never know.
VAR got all the calls right today if you ask me. Even that one in the France-Brazil match. The attacker was late and took out the keeper. Since when does the keeper not get that call?
And are Cameroon ****ing blind? It's all right there on video...
Once again, they need to be showing exactly what they're looking at in VAR in the stadium. Lines and everything.
But Phil Neville and the studio analysts can spare me with the "think of the children watching" pearl clutching. Get over yourselves.
The next evolution they need to take is having the conversation with the VAR crew and the ref available on the world feed, as well as showing the same camera angles that the ref is looking at.
The ref really did lose control of that game though. Cameroon probably should have had two or three red cards.

If "cat fox" was the announcer during the Nigeria/Germany game, it's not like anyone had to go to Sherwin-Williams for paint, plenty was supplied by her words.
the only VAR issues I've had is the keeper off the line stuff, we all knew it happened, and I joked about it being called a few times, and now i know i basically never want that to happen unless it's super egregious.
Marta's words after Brazil's elimination were wonderful.
Sky doesn't seem to be falling any more than it normally is.
