Season Setup - I will be playing the 2019 Season, using FIFA 18. I will be playing every team one time, the rest of the games will be simulated. The US Open Cup will be simulated, unless I make it to the semi-finals. I will not cover, in-depth, any international teams I manage unless it is the US or Canada.
I will be using Matt10's sliders with 10 minute halves on Legendary, using the Community Mod 6.0 FINAL that includes the FIFA Club World Cup and Concacaf Champions League.
For those that follow the MLS, you know that it is home to some of the most confusing and weird roster rules in soccer. The FIFA Series has not, and probably will never, implement these rules. Because of this I will implement the rules that I can within the means of FIFA18.
Squad Rules:
- Max Squad Size of 25 players. (I will only use 25 players, the rest are reserves that are in our fictitious USL team, meaning they can only be used if injuries happen to our Top 25 players)
- 3 Designated Players with Salaries greater than 10k/week
- Cannot have wages greater than 10k/week but must be greater than 5k/week
- 12 squad players that can be either "Rotation (wages greater than 3k/week) or Sproadic (wages less than 3k/week but more than 500/week).
These players are youth signings with "Showing Great Potential or better, must be used in the US Open Squad listed below
MLS Roster Rules:
- 8 international spots (excluding Canadian Players). Since these spots can be traded in real life and not in FIFA, I will only have 8 spots. The MLS also has exceptions for green-card holders, special status rules, etc...this would be far too complicated to to do. If the player does not have a Canadian or American Flag, he is international.
- Must Carry 2 Goalkeepers for every match in all competitions
CONCACAF Champions League Squad Rules:
- 20 players are locked and registered out of the 25 on the team and cannot be changed after the first game unless there are injuries.
US Open Cup Squad Rules
- 18 players are locked and registered out of the 25 on the team, and cannot be changed after Round 1 unless injured
- Only 5 International Players are allowed on the roster. Since this is an American competition Canadian players count against the International player slots
- Must carry all 3 youth academy "prospect" players
Contract Negotiations
If a player does not accept the role during negotiations, we have the option to accept or decline this. If we accept; another player at the tier must be downgraded to a new role or sold by the following transfer window (i.e. if the signing occurs in the Summer, then another player must be sold in the January window). If a player cannot be sold or traded by the next transfer window then that player must be cut unless it is during the Summer Transfer Window, in which the player must be cut after the season ends in December.
Transfers In:- Scouting will be done in game using GTN only, no external scouting.
- Players can only be loaned in from non-MLS clubs
- Minnesota has a $23 million transfer budget. We can use all of this to buy players, however any player who is sold must have their transfer fee split with the MLS 50/50, thus we won't be able to use all of the money
- Free Contract players must be from the United States unless they play in a division considered lower than the MLS (such as secondary leagues in Europe and minor nations such as Sweden, Denmark, Ireland, etc), unless player is older than 30 years, he can be signed regardless of league he currently plays.
Transfers Out
- Bids that are greater than 50% than the listed value of the player must be sold if they are a crucial or important player
Player Swaps
- Unlike most soccer leagues, player swaps or trades are common within the MLS. I can swap players with other MLS squads and complete trades with no limitations.
