Looking forward to seeing what other people think of this lol....

Outside of the new commentary(which has more emotion which is great) and new broadcast presentation.....game looks all too familiar

Anybody else noticed any of the new hyped animations? I have not and I really looked hard.

Personally I don't like the new commentary. It sounds like something from the late 90s, very amateurish.

Also noticed the unrealistic chase camera replays are back so that's again step back to the 90s gamey era. I honestly hoped I won't never see this again in a sport title.

It just seem more and more clear that they are targeting this game to groups of people that they feel they can take advantage with the loot boxes.

Well, of course they won't say it loud, but anybody with common sense and critical thinking should see what they do and whether is this update worthy full AAA game money.

I'm not really a huge fan of the commentary. It seems like he's trying to be an over the top video game narrator as opposed to a real sports commentator . The rest of the games look fine though, hopefully we see longer gameplay sessions to see more of the new animations.

Terrible commentary. There’s a reason James Cybulski doesn’t do NHL games on TV.

Yeah, not really a fan of the commentary either. Over the top seems like a good description of it. Other than that, gameplay looked fine, even if pretty similar to 19. I definitively saw new animations out there which is cool, but we'll have a better idea when we get our hands on the game.

Unfortunately, the beta is such an early build (8 weeks ago) and there have been so many updates done since, it's borderline pointless, because we won't be able to get a good idea of the final product.

The play-by-play guy sounds like he's calling NHL Hitz. Yikes.

As a fan of 19 after messing with the sliders, the video looked solid. I'm mostly curious about their additions to franchise mode, seems like all their marketing revolves around 3s and CHEL and they don't even include, you know, NHL action in any videos.

I was excited about what they were promoting about the commentary, with a new team and new updates throughout the season etc etc. But man, in practice, Cybulski wasn't the best choice. There also seems to have too long of a pause of silence during gameplay too. It's mostly when a player is just carrying the puck, there just wont be any talking lol. I think that just may be because its an early build and likely would be cleaned up in the final game, at least I hope so anyway. The commentary isn't a huge deal for me though, because usually when I play its with my brother, so I don't really notice the commentary all that much, but its still a bit of a letdown

Why Cybulski? Cause he's closest to them. They wanted to do that commentary updates with Doc and Edzo but they can't get them in. Cybulski actually doesn't really do anything other than radio on Sportsnet in Vancouver and I'm not even sure if he's doing that anymore. Usually you can record VO anywhere in the world and send the file over, but they probably couldn't afford that.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I absolutely love the new presentation and commentary. Putting the score on the bottom is a neat addition, especially because I like to play up.

Hard to tell about AI and signature shots, but I like the flashy presentation and fresh commentary.
