Devonta Freeman cut every time?

I’ve stared 4 Cloud franchises, and Devonta gets cut during preseason week 4 each tine.
Anyone seeing this

Lol. What??!!! I started a CFM with the falcons, and he got injured in preseason, so I haven’t seen him on the field, yet.

But, I’m assuming you’re not playing with the falcons and this keeps happening? The only reason I imagine it’s happening is that we have ito smith as a backup and drafted 2 HBs. So, maybe, the game AI is thinking they’ll keep 3 RBs, and since they just drafted these 2, they’re the ‘keepers.’ Because Freeman is now technically ‘injury prone,’ maybe the game reads it that he’s expendable at this point due to salary/play time due to injury/etc?

I’m not saying this should happen, btw, of course (especially as a falcons fan who loves freeman), but I have to wonder if the drafting of 2 HBs confuses the roster management AI.

He straight up disappeared in mine. Got cut, then wasn't in FA, nobody signed him. Kind of a joke.

I've had 3 cloud franchises and he's a FA after the first season in all of them. Him, Kareem Hunt, Myles Jack, and Kendall Fuller.

Just finished my first offseason. Only saw Hunt, and I figured he only signed a single season in Cleveland so theres that.

I was starting a new franchise and noticed the same thing. I saw that he was cut in the news but he wasn't a FA or on anyone's roster. I wouldn't have bothered looking if I hadn't seen this thread. I wonder if this is happening to any other good players. I know Madden gets rid of low overall FA when the pool gets too full but he shouldn't fit that criteria.

its also players age as well

the only to stop this is

1 make a 32-team cfm
2 when u cut make sure there is less than 50 rb's in the FA POOL if they are he will stay in the game

if u dont retire anyone u couild hide freeman in p/k when u cut as long as its under 20 when u cut him u can also edit age as well

If you wanted to prevent this from happening, could you sign players at the bottom of each position (ones that you don’t mind disappearing) and then change their position to a “full” position in FA (kicker, or punter, for instance) and then release them? Wouldn’t that, in theory, automatically delete them? (Especially since their overall will be extremely low, you could even jack up their age a ton to make double sure).

Do this enough times for every position, and repeat the process every now and then, and you could prevent new cuts from ever being automatically deleted since you’ll just always maintain free space in free agency. It’s kindof like you’re “pruning” free agency.

Anyone know if that would work? I don’t have the game until the 2nd.

Personally, I did not see Freeman get cut with the 3-4 Franchises I've simmed so far, but I DID see Frank Gore get cut every time. Doesn't make sense since they just signed him in the offseason & plan to start him splitting time w/ McCoy.

Also saw a good amount of second year players (WR's & TEs) that are pretty important to their team getting cut as well. The logic is definitely off... probably won't get patched till 3-4 months from now, IF at all.

Next time I go on I'll make a list of players getting cut whom are young and expected to either start or eventually start in the near future.

I was just about to post in the franchise progress thread that I just got to WK 4 of pre season and noticed Freeman in the FA pool. I don't want to bury Josh Jacobs, so I'm not going to sign him myself, but hopefully someone does. Odd that he's cut, but stranger things have happened.

Can somebody maybe reach out to a dev on Twitter? I dont have one. When this happened last year, they rectified it pretty quickly. Hopefully it can be adjusted before release.

In the meantime, what I did last year was sign every player who was getting the Infinity Gauntlet to a team in the Roster menu/save/then upload that roster into my Franchise. Hope that made sense lol
