Unfortunately not. I wish it was.

I've never really understood the desire for this. What exactly is it that you want in a season mode that you can't get from CFM?

Yes. I was thinking the same thing. I thought maybe I was missing something. It makes sense for baseball, basketball, and hockey games to have it... their seasons are long. Don't know what you're going to get out of it in a football game. And honestly, EA does not need to incorporate any more "modes" in this game when they lack the ability to adequately address the ones they currently have.

If you really look at the work put in CFM, you can call it season mode. Thats the best timeframe of fun it is for now.

For me, it just seems like you have to jump through a bunch of hoops to play or watch the NFL season. I just want to be able to go in, make sure the rosters are accurate, go to week one and have the ability to watch or play selected games, while the others sim the results.

I guess it's really more about having to "control" a team and set up 32 different profiles and go in to a specific one to get to that game. Then, you have to choose Supersim and go into the actual game to sim it. It's time consuming. Season mode, to me, would be more like it is in the main menu, with editable rosters and depth charts of all 32 teams. Then, you go to Week One and check the games you want to play or the ones you want to have the computer automatically sim.

I think this is kind of the problem. The lack of overall depth, CFM gets old pretty quickly. A Season Mode should be the appetizer to the CFM main course. Seems like CFM is being held back for the sake of the causal player who EA Tib does not want to overwhelm. For example, Fog of War is only for players you know are good, no real risks to the user. That type of hand-holding would work better in a season mode environment.

There are options to facilitate playing a season in Madden without the bells and whistles of Franchise mode.

You can use the "simple season" option of Franchise mode added in Madden 18 to conduct a season, this hides many Franchise-specific gameplay mechanics such as player progression, injury management, rookie scouting, contract negotiations, etc. etc. You can additionally use the franchise initial configuration options to start at Regular Season Week 1. You can also set CPU progression to "end of season" to minimize player progression by the CPU.

You can further use Franchise start points to start at a certain week in the regular season once the preceding week is played in real life, and that week will use the real-life rosters at that moment and have stats accumulated up to whatever they are in real life.

Not per-say, but you can set this up yourself if you have the time and a little bit of patience.

Select your team and start franchise. Set as many options as you want to automatic, so you won't have be bothered with them. From there, go thru each roster and set the starters to 20 years old and defeat XP sliders by at least 50%, so you won't have players with crazy overalls in just a few years.
Finally, turn off the salary cap and CPU trades. For the most part, each season you play will be against players on teams you see on Sunday.

I ended up doing this in Madden 19 eventually since, while I enjoyed the game, CFM just wasn't doing it for me anymore. It takes some time, but if you are willing to put in the work, it can be done. Good luck.
