My advice? Find a TE who can reliably catch a play action pass... or run a pitch/sweep/stretch. Madden has forever come up short in delivering even remotely realistic trench battles, such as the goal line / short yardage stands. If the block holds, you typically glitch into the nearest o-lineman... if not, it's a shed animation and a stuff. The architecture of the current game just isn't capable in this area... it does a decent enough job of fudging things thru dice rolls + motion capture when there is some space to work with... but when more than two or three bodies are fighting for the same spot on the field? well, it all just breaks down.
