Seeing some improvements in pass coverage. Not perfect, but slight improvement.

If they played the game they would see the things that are clear to everyone who is playing the game. Clint is off in fantasy land talking about fumble rates because he isn't playing the game and seeing what these fumbles are caused by.... which is literally part of this update blog...
The fumbles were bad, i played VS the Panthers after the patch on default all pro (profile delete) and i didnt fumble everytime so technically an improvement which is nice.

Yes. It’s taking me a lot longer now to navigate menus, which is really frustrating because one of my favorite things about the game was how quickly you could navigate menus.

            I’m on Xbox.

Double team mechanic looks excellent and would have helped me this morning vs Fletcher Cox LMAO he crushed me.

Will play tonight and see how she goes.
Playing "Coach mode" and my (User) QB (set to auto pass) still does the drop back.. drop back etc.. bug.

*Fixed an issue causing the hidden Dev Trait ‘snaps played’ progress to be lost after quitting out of Franchise*

I can confirm this IS NOT FIXED in offline Franchises that were started before the patch.....

Double teaming is a great idea, but terribly implemented. Hard to put into words but I don’t feel like going through the process of video, especially when it won’t make much difference.

Basically, edge rushers should be picked up by RBs for a double team. This doesn’t happen. Guards literally shift over to double team, which makes absolutely no sense from a football standpoint. Not only that, but I’ve seen where the guard will leave his gap unoccupied, and the DT in that gap won’t actually just run through it to the QB. Instead, he turns to engage with the center (which I’ve been on here pointing out as an issue for years that defensive players allow themselves to be blocked).

Terrific idea, but implemented in a totally unrealistic manner. Not to mention that double team blocks are shed easier than one on one blocks. Add the fact that run blocking schemes and pass coverage is still screwed up and you get a complete mess of a game.

Again, applaud the efforts, was really impressed when I first read the notes, but still just unbelievably far from where I feel like we could and should be.

Selfless: Make hit stick tackles. Not working as it should be. I am getting hit stick tackles but it does not count towards progress

Played the same game I ran a CPU slow supersim for earlier, Chiefs at Jags, week 1, All-Pro default, with me controlling the Jaguars. Felt really balanced, even with the X-Factors present. Campbell did not take over the game like he did in the CPU game, he had 5 sacks in that one and just one in this one - on the final play of the game after it was long since decided.

Both run games were dominant, with Fournette and Williams going over 100.

Mahomes (one of my main reasons for playing this game due to aforementioned Deadeye issues) was good but not close to perfect, 31-44, 362 yards, a TD pass and two interceptions.

Mahomes was not afraid to air out his Bazooka ability once it activated in the early 3rd quarter. Several accurate deep balls, a couple completed but most broken up by some really good coverage. And the last one was picked off with a spectacular one-handed INT by Jarrod Wilson that started with some hand-fighting animations before him and Tyreek went up for it.

And this game gave me one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in Madden:

                            <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/32ghejCqOgo" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

                            Catch and Touchdown.

Two main issues from this game - it almost felt too easy to run the ball as I had over 300 yards on the ground between Fournette, Blue and Foles (he scrambled into large spaces a few times), but that could be remedied by sliders if it continues to be an issue, and I won't judge it until I have a real sample size. And....I had the kick meter thing happen for the first time, on a late-game punt. Fortunately the game was out of reach at that point and it didn't impact anything.

Anyone else notice that practice squad eligibility in Franchise was increased from "less than two years pro" to "less than three years pro"?

I assume this was done to give young low OVR players with normal dev more time to "git gud" and also reduce the number of edge cases where, when using franchise start points, players who are on practice squad in real life can't be on practice squad in Madden (the NFL's byzantine "accrued season" rules aren't present in Madden).

Clint admitted as much on Twitter that how this feature was delivered in Madden wasn't necessarily how double teams on the edge work in real-life football, but it was delivered with such high priority primarily because Madden fans have been asking for the feature with fervor.

EA also warned in the patch notes that the mechanic can absolutely wreck your protection if you're not careful. Like you mentioned, I've also seen some stuff already where people try to double-team a 9-Tech DE and the gap between the guard and center on that side opens like a flood gate.

In my limited experience so far, the new mechanic is absolutely slowing down X-Factor players on the edge - that's exactly what it's there for - so I have to disagree with your assessment that rushers are splitting these new double team blocks easier than single-team blocks.
