Generally EA doesn't include the second division stadiums for leagues that have more than one in the game.

Yeah that’s the good thing about EA having the EPL license. It means 3 promoted clubs usually get a new stadium and the 3 clubs that get relegated keep theirs so IF a few new clubs get promoted we could conceivably have all of the EPL & Championship.

I may be crazy, but I do recall playing in one of the relegated EFL Championship stadiums in FIFA 19 and much of the team branding was removed, possibly the stadium itself. Has anyone else come across this or am I just not remembering correctly? (I guess it may have been possible that I was playing a preseason friendly at a neutral site.)

I'd have to go back and check. I know last year the 'to do' was the three promoted la liga clubs did not get their stadia in but the relegated sides still had theirs (I think). KG is right if they allowed it but they had all the stadia for the world cup and none of them made it into 19. If licensed, adding these in would be a nice touch.

The only reason the stadiums for the Russian Premier League/2018 WC didn’t make it into FIFA 19 was because Konami bought the exclusive rights to that league.

Licensing SUCKS but we better get used to it.

Money is a driving factor for everyone, so it's not surprising. This is the rabbit hole we've gone down thanks to the original Madden deal, and the whole American Needle lawsuit. It's a shame, but it's what they(the NFL) definitely wanted.

It will suck not having the Allienz Arena to give it the full Bundesliga presentation ala Premier League. In '19 EA fixed the infamous Bundesliga 33 week glitch in tournament mode and hopefully this season we'll get to play all 34 weeks.

Okay, I did some checking and can expand upon this. It's not that the Championship stadiums are missing in FIFA 19 (they are on EA's official stadium list after all) or that details have been removed (they haven't), it's that many of EA's Championship stadiums are lacking in detail, or worse, decked out in EA/FIFA branding from head to toe.

For example, if you check out the stadiums of Hull, West Brom or Wigan in any version of FIFA since they were included, you'll see there is a distinct lack of team banners, flags, etc. The stadium architecture may be accurate, but there's absolutely no flavor. In most cases, EA/FIFA banners replace team identity. Now compare this to Loftus Road, which is blinged out with QPR branding all over the place. In other words, different stadiums seem to feature different levels of detail. Maybe this is a reflection of the real-life stadiums, I'm really not sure.

In any case, this is another area where PES has it over FIFA, as you can add custom banners and colors to give each stadium a more personalized feel. I read somewhere that FIFA 20 is adding more stadium detail such as tifos, etc. This definitely would help.

That's interesting turbo. I wonder if it's intentional or part of some legal mandate by the English FA for all "Premier League" Clubs to be 100% accurate.

I only know a handful of people that even play on camera angles where you can see stadium details tbh. The pitch, touchlines, and behind the goal, that's all I
normally see on my camera angle.

I did a bit more research this morning and it does seem as though EA has recreated all of the stadiums faithfully, or as much as possible while avoiding licensing conflicts (ex: EA/FIFA branding replacing a T-Mobile banner). Some of the "duller" EFL stadiums in FIFA are in fact gray and bland in real life, or at least that's what they look like in the pics I've researched.

So in closing, all relegated EPL/EFL Championship stadiums are still fairly accurate. Nothing has been rebranded or removed. Sorry about the fuss.

LOL, well that's the artist in me... always concerned with visuals. That's also why I prefer the PES approach, the stadium details you're customizing in PES are mostly visible in-game. The pre-match stadium shots do add to the experience, but I'm pretty sure most people skip through those anyway.

Authentic stadiums are nice and all but I'd swapped them for fake ones if it meant fixed camera positions across stadiums!
