Re: What mode are you playing in NHL 20
Just playing play now games for now. Once rosters hit, I will start season mode with a yet to decided team. I never take my home team...Blues...I always choose somebody else. Dallas and Vancouver are very real options at this point.
Also one thing, I noticed...EA never puts rookies in until they play at least 1 NHL game yet Jack Hughes is already on the Devils #1 line....interesting. -
Re: What mode are you playing in NHL 20
I’ve been playing a lot of Be A Pro (defenseman) sprinkled with some one off exhibition games. Like you, I’m also waiting for the rosters to update before getting into franchise mode.
I will say that I typically avoid any online mode, but the Ones tournament is pretty fun.NHL- Chicago Blackhawks
MLB- St. Louis Cardinals
NFL- St. Louis Rams (RIP)
NCAA- Notre Dame, Arizona State, and MizzouComment

Re: What mode are you playing in NHL 20
Agreed. The first good rosters don't usually show up until November.
I'm rolling with an expansion franchise. With a bit of fine tuning (adding a year to certain 2020 UFA's contracts so that they aren't UFA's when I begin), and a few created rookies (The USHL boys and a few Russians), it actually ends up seeming somewhat realistic when I start.
But really EA...GIMME ROSTER SHARING AND/OR 31(or 32) TEAM CONTROL!!!2025 Expos Expansion:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1295163793Comment

I’ll more than likely play the Champions League tournament and perhaps playoff mode until the updated rosters hit. I like starting my Kings franchise with the opening week rosters....

Re: What mode are you playing in NHL 20
Yeah, sometime in early November.
Unfortunately with the current NHLPA agreement, players have to sign a waiver or something along those lines before they can be added to the game.
It probably seems a bit weird, mainly because a guy like Hughes is already in the game, and the CHL rosters have 21 year olds on them (who you can edit and move to the AHL or NHL), but it is what it is. You can actually find Kaako on his Finnish team from last year as well. The only guys that aren't really find-able are the USHL guys/NCAA'ers (Turcotte, Zegras, Caulfield, etc.), and the Russians (Podkolzin, Shesterkin, etc.).
I find that it's almost worth it to make a list and create the 15-20 guys that may actually end up in the league this season. It's rare that EA has a "perfect" roster at any point during the season anyway.2025 Expos Expansion:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1295163793Comment

Re: What mode are you playing in NHL 20
Be A Pro has always been my primary mode, Franchise and Online never really appealed much to me. Over the last few years BAP as a Goalie sucked in comparison to online, so I took my goalie playing there and last year I started delving into Franchise mode a bit.
This year so far it's mostly still BAP but I think once the opening night roster goes live I'll really be jumping into Franchise and giving it a proper look.Comment

Kind of got sucked in to HUT for the first time in a couple of years. They've made some quality of life improvements so that building and managing a team seems like less of a 'grind' than previous years.
Online versus is fun. It's an ego crusher some times because there are some good players out there - but you learn a lot from them.
I haven't been able to sink myself in to a franchise mode in years. Everyone seems to love NHL 20's franchise mode, so it may be time to give that shot. I just wish there was an online component (even a roster share) because when things are 100% offline, I get really bored playing the CPU. Just like previous years, it's very predictable.Comment
