Oof... If NHL 20 predicted that the Ottawa Senators would be 2nd in their Division while also making it far into the playoffs, then you know this game is 100% bs.

      LOL!

Amazing that the game can predict something without the rookies being in.
          NFL- Green Bay Packers
          NCAA- Florida State Seminoles
          NHL- Carolina Hurricanes

...and if you spent $50+ on micro-transactions, your favorite players/team are guaranteed to come out on top.

              Pittsburgh.  Seventh place.
Thanks for the laugh, from (ahem) a former Capitals season ticket holder.  Love 'em or hate 'em, you have to respect the Tuxedoed Terrors' consistency:  at 13 years, they have the longest current playoff appearance streak in the NHL, and it's not even close.
              Pittsburgh.  Seventh place.  ROTFL

This confirms my fear that simming games in franchise or playoff mode is like flipping a coin and has little to do with the talent level of the teams.

This is a huge reason why I hate playing Season or any type of career mode in this series where the AI sims most of the games. For the most part simmed games are just completely random. I'm twelve games into my season and Chicago is 8-1-1 and Arizona is 12-0... I mean you never really know, surprises like this happen in real hockey all the time (I bet if the NHL 18 Sim predicted Vegas to be in the finals people would have given the game tons of hate ) but in the game, teams that really shouldn't be good dominate almost every season. I don't think I've ever seen Arizona miss the playoffs in any season mode I have ever completed. I just stick to playing out every game in different tournament/playoff scenarios and just enjoy the gameplay.

Yeah, it's been pretty bad for a while now, I've simmed seasons with identical rosters and seen teams go from first to last, it seems completely random for the most part. Although, when you actually look at the team ratings there is next to no separation between any of them....goes back to that again I guess.

Seems like half of those teams will probably miss the playoffs IRL

Vegas in 7th? Even if that was really going to happen the tickets would still be $300 for crappy seats.
