NBA 2K16 Ultimate Classic Teams Roster

Hi all,

I created a roster like this for 2K17, that added 40+ new classic teams to the game, and filled the default classic teams accurately. This roster aims to do the same thing, add a ton of new classic teams, and fill the default classic teams. All teams will be myleague eligible with atleast 13 players (And no fakes)

What do I bring to the roster?



I make faces, edit body types, convert/make floors, portraits (brother), logos, the players themselves (Ratings, etc), and other CE stuff.


Why 2K16 and 2K17? Because I don't believe that just because a game is new, that someone should automatically switch, especially if you enjoy prior games more. In a year, people will be switching to 2K21, and the cycle continues. 2K16 and 2K17 had a motion system and feel that I enjoyed far more, with much better foot planting and more overall control.

I don't mod for clout or attention, or whatever. So I fully understand that this roster will not reach even close to the number of people that a 2K20 roster would. But, the goal will be the enhance the experience of those who do play these games still, and hopefully they can create memories with it (That's the ultimate goal).

Obviously many more teams than above are in the pipeline, so just keep an eye on this thread.

And if you are thinking to yourself "Man, this game looks great!", it's because it does. I have no mods in the game that alter the base graphics (no global mod). IMO, from the gameplay perspective, this game looks better than 2K20, and has better body types. It's just the overall lighting, atmosphere, and look in general.

Also, that's a custom background I made for the edit player screen. Makes the players pop.

Next up, the 82-83 76ers, 06-07 Mavericks, 98-99 Knicks, I made a really good Dampier for 2K17, sadly it can't be converted at this point, so I am going to try my hand at him again from scratch.

Note: I don't know if others on PC realize this, but 2K16 is 100% moddable, same as 2K17 though 2K20, technically complete single season mods (like the UBR) could be made for this game with correct uniforms, cyberfaces, courts, stadiums, etc etc. Without REDMC it takes a bit more work, but it's literally just as moddable as 2K14 for the PC and prior. It's a shame that more modders are not interesting in modding a 4 year old game like this, this is probably the most SIM 2K game ever made, and would be excellent for a UBR type roster.

A few of these courts were the work of Manni Live for when 2K16 was new, if I mistakenly called one of the above his, and it's someone elses, please let me know so I can change the credits. Retroman has already given me permission in the past to use his courts on this gen (THANK YOU), so I have converted several of his to 2K16. Sticky has been awesome and volunteered to make courts for the project, so thank you. He does a great job.

Even with the lack of comments and attention on here regarding this roster, I will keep posting previews and updates.

Just remember, when 2K21 comes out, 2K20 will be left in the dust, and that cycle continues. Hold onto the games and gameplay you like. I understand why a roster like this gets less attention for the large majority of players who want updated rosters and use the current NBA teams, totally understandable. But for those who like retro content, I have a lot of solid retro content available for 2K16 and 2K17.

Found them. Great rosters. Hope you get around to making the 09 Magic because I would love to crush them with the Cavs. Still bitter about that series.
