    Mike Lowe Madden 20 Sliders

    Introduction

This is a set for folks who want to move past the placebo/hysteria that is main menu settings interacting with CFM settings.

These settings don't interact with each other, and I have confirmation from the Madden team (and from years of personal experience) that it's nothing but hyperbole; What you're experiencing is statistical variance, as the simplest explanation to not get us sidetracked.

Community feedback has helped me tremendously w the MLB The Show sliders, and I'm hoping to help folks w a slider set for Madden this year too. I'm admittedly not the best Madden player, but I'd say I'm above average or more on a good day.

You'll see some similarities to other slider sets here as I've used a few sets in the past and went from there.

    Overview

    *13 minutes quarters
    *No-switch
    *Auto-catch only
    *tdawg's XP sliders
    *Simulate weekly training on bronze
*I control a LB or DB
*Will work in full games as well as Play The Moments
*Evaluated and adjusted for added realism and accuracy against simulated CFM games, and hopefully the NFL

    Additional Information

The goal of this set is to use data collection and analysis to work toward finding a slider set that matches the output of simulated games (and hopefully real life).

I've done beta testing for OOTP baseball since 2008, as well as testing for Grey Dog Software. I've done similar slider sets for other games here at OS, and I also do a lot of testing and design in my career.

The reason I share that brief bio is to explain my approach in being thorough in my settings and adjustments to provide a realistic and challenging set, even if that means I go 5-11 sometimes (my baseball sliders had my team within 2 games of their real life counterpart one year).

I'm not a believer in locking in a slider set and never readjusting. Instead, I look for ways to have the game fluctuate along with my gradual improvements, which are inevitable.

I'm not aiming for every game to be some sort of perfect script, and I love seeing results others get from this set as well.

Lions win in Week 1 on the road in Arizona.

Nice to see Kyler Murray scramble for 66 yards in this game. A kickoff return as time expired in the first half helped us pickup a win on a day when our passing game did just enough, 24-10.

        Great approach I believe.

Question - did they ever remove the False Start glitch where you would get 2-3 FS in a row especially as you neared the opponents goalline? I think it may have had to to do with Fatigue settings that were over 50, but I am not sure. It almost seemed as if it was hard coded into the game.

I don't have 20...I am still using 19 and seeing it happen. Just hoping they got rid of it for 20 as I see your FS setting is 99.

My first game with these settings, the CPU Packers had nine false starts over the course of the game. Three on the first drive of the game.

Maybe just a fluke, but something I’ll be watching over the next few games.

Interesting. Maybe they tweaked it for 20...it was a big issue in 18 and 19 for sure. Was hoping they tweaked it.

I see a post above...ugh...looks like it still happens with cpu in 20

I have played a ton as well. I have not seen it once on 20.

Anyway, always respect your work mike.

I'm actually ok with that. I see it as Packers having "9 penalties for 45 yards."

To me, that's better than just settling for "we can't get penalties in Madden."

                  We most certainly can.

Yeah, I haven’t had that many in the couple of games I’ve played since, so it looks like it was a bit of a fluke. The balance between false starts and encroachment penalties is a bit too heavy towards the offensive penalty, but there’s only so much that can be done to make penalties realistic with this engine.

Couple of notes after four games with these:

                    • Have you seen the QB kickers ever miss a kick wide? I’ve only seen one miss so far and that was a 57 yard attempt that was short.

                    • The CPU QBs are very accurate. I’ve only seen two or three throws that were not on target.

                    • Running game is tough but the CPU is putting up decent numbers. I’d like to see a few more big runs (20+ yards) as it seems most runs are either for 0 or 6-8 yards. Tackling may be a bit too sure.

Otherwise, these are a really great base for me. Thanks for your work as always.

Arizona's kicked missed 3 FGs in our Week 1 game. At least 2 of them if not all 3 were wide.

Here are the highest % guys who started a game in my Week 1. Kyler Murray was 6th, but lots of dink and dunks as he only threw for 174 and scrambled when things weren't open downfield.
