    Matt10's Madden 20 Sliders

I really wish I could get human run game toned down on AP. It would be perfect on AP if I was able to do this. Not a slider issue at all. I’ve tried almost every value. Gone down to even 20 human RB and 60 cpu tackle. Still busting out 130+ yard games regularly. I’ve only ever played with the browns believe it or not. Their line is trash too. 3 of 5 starters below 70 overall. I don’t know if having a highly rated Chubb and hunt is making this huge of a difference or what

My hope with each title update is that they make it feel realistic on one of the base game modes. Gonna year AM and AP. I was having a hard time on this slider set w interceptions before the update but now it’s feeling even tougher. I think the CPU pass coverage got smarter with the patch.

Anyone having an issue with double team blocks getting insta-shed? Seems like everytime I use it whoever I double just goes right through the double team without any issues

Same issue on AM, though not quite as bad as AP as the CPU is at least more aggressive in shedding blocks and pursuit.
I attribute this to very good RBs and some overpowered plays. I use house rules and only call certain run plays once per game. In my CFM Mixon has First one Free, Jukebox, and human joystick so he can basically just take I form stretch to the house every time unless I limit myself. Oline is all 70-80 range.

              Matt10's Madden 20 Sliders

Updated 03/29/2020: Owner Mode sliders based on Matt10’s work (V. 38)

Here’s my reason for the formulation of this set.

              1. Games should be competitive and based on what we would expect in a real NFL game. Scores should not reach the 40s unless one team is having a day, or neither team is playing defense. Scores should only be in the 30s if a team has a vaunted offense, is the recipient of valuable turnovers, or the game is a shootout. Most games should see teams scoring between 17 - 28 points. This is where real NFL games typically live, when the averages over a season are considered.

              2. The game should have both teams punting and playing for field position. The only exception to this is the aforementioned juggernaut offense having a field day with their opponent.

              3. I want to see a realistic number of snaps because that is the best factor for determining realistic stats (when correct sliders are in place). This means most games should see between 120 - 130 snaps. A quick game would be fewer than 120 snaps and a slow game would be more than 130 snaps. This is typically based on completion percentage. If the QBs are hitting a high percentage of their passes and/or we see lots of running, then the clock keeps running, thereby driving the total snap count down. The reverse is also true. A lower completion percentage and less running would likely yield more snaps because the clock will have stopped more.

**I use Flazko’s auto subs for player rotation and TDawg’s XP sliders for player progression. If you choose not to use these, you may get very different results.

Anyway, for those of you who love Matt10’s sliders but want them adjusted for Owner Mode. My major updates are explained below the slider set.

              Punt Power: 45
              Punt Accuracy: 37
              Kickoff Power: 50

Unless EA releases another title update, this is my final slider update for the season. I tested about 10 - 15 games with these sliders because I was seeing weird running habits and WAY too much offense for both sides. The game had become a no-defense contest with minimal running because the AI wanted to throw almost every play.

Anyway, these are the sliders. Enjoy.

                  Re: Matt10's Madden 20 Sliders

What is everyone seeing so far with the new patch?

Coverage seems loosened up a bit, even more than after last patch. Seeing a lot of guys squatting in zones wide open while AI defenders stand a few yards off. Only adjustment I have is -5 CPU QBA but seeing consistently high completion rates mostly from the coverage.

CPU running seems slightly improved, even saw a spin move.

Lots of broken tackles out of nowhere, was pretty noticeable to me. AI defenders seem to react better to the run however, it’s a lot more balanced and the big stretch plays aren’t super OP.

Overall it’s still very playable and producing close and varied games. I see a few areas that could be dialed in but still good.

Is this AP or AM? I’m on AM and I have seen some differences but I’m still getting shredded in the pass defense for myself with good corners, they are mostly reacting slow, especially in zone.

                      Highlights:

                      1. I went back to 13 minutes quarters with a 15 second clock. It turns out I was just slower at calling plays when I switched to a new playbook. I had too many plays per game with 15 minute quarters and a 13 second clock.

                      2. Pass blocking, Pass Reaction, and Interceptions have been lowered due to the AI of the new patch.

                      3. Tackling has been increased due to the new patch as well.

I’m seeing great animations with runners—both RBs and receivers. I’m seeing the CPU QB get rid of the ball under pressure quite a bit more, which is lowering their completion percentage. I’m seeing defensive play calling being even more critical to stopping the CPU. If I call for a run blitz and I guess wrong, I’m toast. And that’s the way it should be. T.Y. Hilton beat me for a 75 yard TD because I guessed wrong. I’m seeing RBs break big runs through busted lines. Both the CPU and I each had runs of over 30 yards. My 38 yard run was the longest I’ve had in Coach Mode.

Anyway, for those of you who love Matt10’s sliders but want them adjusted for Coach Mode, here’s my working set:

Played 2 games with the new update. 2 REALLY different outcomes

Game 1: @ Denver with Bridgewater as qb and we lose 16-10. Checkdown Teddy threw for about 80% on me, but my defense held tight in the red zone. Fromm is my QB and I noticed passing may be a bit easier, I still stalled on drives though, which I like.

Game 2: @ Cincinnati with Sam Ehlinger as QB, I won 38-3. Now he's young and not very good so he threw a couple picks and they couldn't move the ball on my defense, very realistic to me, considering my Defense is very good. Fromm threw 4 TD's for me.

Something about after this patch (maybe it's in my head) but the lighting and graphics just looked super crisp, it was weird. Game still plays great, imo.

Sorry for bothering you with posting it here. Some of the guys had asked. I said a while back I wouldn’t post unless people specifically asked. I also don’t want to hijack the thread either. Thanks for the feedback.

Edit: I will abide by Matt10’s wishes. If he wants me to stop posting these adjusted sliders, I will gladly respect his wishes. My reason for posting them here is they are directly based on Matt’s work. I didn’t want to take credit for the base set because it wasn’t my own work.

Anybody have any tips for having less balls knocked out when catching? My receivers seem to initially make the catch often, but when there is contact I would say they drop it 70% of the time. I'm not sure if it's a receiver problem or a me problem lol.

Crazy you say that, but I have that happen all the time as well. After the patch in my games I noticed one of my guys come down with a contested ball, and their receivers held on to some balls where they got hit as they were catching, too.

It’s interesting to read that some guys were seeing softer coverage since the patch yesterday. I was seeing tighter coverage and more jumped routes.

I like to see some routes jumped. That’s real-to-life. Trying to find that balance.
