Hey guys,
I have spent some hours today comparing the EA Roster Update from Nov 21st, 2019, which we all know is just lackluster performance by EA Sports, with the official AHL rosters on www.theahl.com from all teams.

I checked every missing player, if he's somewhere in the roster and performed every player movement possible to respective AHL Teams, while also noting down which players were removed and needs to be created still by EA or ourselves.

I really do not trust EA to have authentic rosters in AHL, cause they move players to ECHL and are no more available in franchise mode...

I have now merged the rosters with EA Roster from Nov 21st so that we can test different aspects for an offline franchise. I know the roster is far from finished, but I want to run some tests with offline play & simming, how our ratings work out. Going to wait also for the final roster for making the proper rerates and potential alongside you, guys!
One question to you guys:
How are we going to handle players that are in the game, but their likeliness is ****ty like f.i. on Bridgeport Robert "Bobo" Carpenter? Let the original roster player or take the created one?
I do not think, they will deliver on all players bio pictures and have them with no name announcing, so I think I might go with created then...

I usually go with the EA version of the player, mainly because it annoys me when they don't have the player's last name as a play-by-play name and I have to pick something else.

I did figure something out testing out franchise mode, and it has to do with RFAs that don't have a contract and are playing in Europe. Players like Jesse Puljujarvi with EDM and Julius Honka with DAL. When you start a franchise mode, they are given a 1 year deal, usually worth around 700K, even though they don't have a contract when you look under the Rosters on the Main Menu. But when I put those players on their respective NHL teams and started a franchise mode, they were listed as Unsigned RFAs, and didn't have a contract. The only player it didn't work with for some reason was Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson of Boston. No matter what I did, he would always have a 1 year deal.

I'm not sure if anyone else knew this, but when I figured it out, I thought it was rather interesting, and something I'll make sure to do when I start a franchise mode.

FYI the players that are Unsigned RFAs with their respective teams are:

It’s a lot yes, I will wait till the next Roster. For me important that Players have minimum an image ( better real scanned likeness too ) in their profiles and in this list there are a lot with Images out of the game. So personally will not create any Player of this list. To create these or to work on this current EA Roster has no sense for me. It is work for nothing.

Yeah, it is indeed very annoying. I have not figured yet if when the EA Roster Updates come out, that they have play-by-play names. The stadium announcer always is having the jersey number and nothing else.

In franchise mode, I figured out that players in Europe without a contract and having a draft year before 2018 automatically get a 1-year contract.
I saw that on my Isles with Johan Sundström (Frölunda) and Robin Salo (SaiPa). EA is using the draft year as a reference for signing eligibility in their coding, which makes it buggy, to say the least.
Following up on this circumstance we are not able to edit draft year by editing the player, so we can not change it this way.

I made the list, so that we have a reference what to do when the better roster comes out. I do not believe that EA will have them 100% correct at any point in time because players assigned to the ECHL instead, go figure.
By noting the players who are to be created is meant that EA still missing NCAA/Russian players them after signing already last year at the end of the season. It is not that I will create them all, it is just a help for people who do not want to wait.
