Crazy to think a match featuring 2 legends in the main event on ppv is barely remembered for those 2 at all, but rather a superstar interference.

How many other matches of that magnitude can you think of like that?

I donโ€™t know man. I think a lot us remember it as both.

12 years ago today I saw this dumb thing in person.

And Triple H had three matches or something. No Mercy was a weird PPV.

Visibility wise, was that bamboo thing better or worse than the Bray/Seth Virtual Boy presentation last night?

20 years ago today, the Ladder Match that changed the careers of 4 Men. The Hardys vs Edge & Christian in the finals of the Terri Runnels Invitational Tournament. This led to a standing ovation the next night on RAW from the crowd.

Also... Triple H beat Stone Cold Steve Austin in a Anything Goes Match for the WWE Championship. The Rock came down to hit Hunter with a sledgehammer but ended up hitting Austin instead. This was supposed to set up a Triple Threat at Survivor Series with The Rock, Austin and Hunter but injuries cost us this once in a lifetime match between these three in their prime.

That tag feud was one which people really didn't appreciate until later on.

I was watching all the shows in 99 throughout the past year or so and I noticed crowd really wasn't into these teams or their feud much. Once this ladder match happened, that really put them on the map.

Rock vs Austin vs HHH would've been such a great feud. I would've even just saved it for WM instead of that fatal 4 way we ended up with.

SIERRA HOTEL INDIA ECHO LIMA DELTA....... SHIELD!

7 years ago, three guys showed up at Survivor Series taking out Ryback and helped CM Punk retain his WWE Championship. Since that night, the course of WWE was changed forever. Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns went on to dominate the main event scene during their time in WWE.

To think, history was changed simply because Vince didn't believe in Test. He apparently hated this so much and just wanted to get it over with, and HHH basically got in Vinces ear and changed the story. After this moment, they completely dropped the ball on Test. Went from the centerpiece in a McMahon storyline to just some low card guy.

Was Test supposed to get a world title run and beat Triple H for his redemption storyline or something like that?

I dont know if that was the case. Probably not.

Supposedly DX didnt like him since booking was trying to make Test the new Kevin Nash.

Classic Kliq politics. I always thought it was odd he never got his revenge against Hunter.
