2017 NFC Wild Card Playoff: Philadelphia Eagles (10-6) @ Washington Redskins (10-4-2)

In Sam Hudson's first ever playoff game in the NFL and the Redskins' first playoff game since 2015, Washington look to get revenge on the Eagles from earlier in the season and advance past the Wild Card round.

On the very first play from scrimmage after a turnover forced by the defense, Hudson took it to the house on a 33-yard rush. After getting pinned on the 3-yard line on the next drive, Hudson led the Redskins down the field and ended up scoring on an explosive 65-yard rush. However, the Eagles were able to score on their next drive, bringing the score within 7. On the first play of the second quarter, Hudson walked in for a 1-yard score, making it his first game with three touchdowns or more, completing the feat in just the first half. The Eagles scored a field goal, but the Redskins canceled it out by scoring a field goal of their own.

Hudson continued to have a break out day in the second half after driving down the field and scoring an 8-yard touchdown. Unfortunately, after two straight 3-and-outs, the Eagles scored a touchdown, bringing the game within two possessions. After the touchdown, the Redskins scored a field goal after chewing the clock out. The Redskins were able to move on to the Divisional round for the first time since 2005. The Redskins head to Atlanta to face the Falcons in the Divisional round.

2017 NFC Divisional Playoff: Washington Redskins (10-4-2) @ Atlanta Falcons (14-2)

In an attempt to get to their first NFC Conference Championship since 1991, the Redskins take to trip down to Atlanta to face off against the Falcons. After an explosive game against the Eagles, Sam Hudson looks to do much of the same down in the Georgia.

Unfortunately, the Falcons started off with a touchdown on their first drive. The Redskins were only able to score a field goal, but, luckily, the defense was able to keep it close, as they only allowed a field goal. The Redskins closed out the half without a score.

In the second half, the Redskins were able to score a field goal on their first drive and, after the defense got a stop against the Falcons offense, Sam Hudson got the first touchdown of the day for the Redskins. After a drive that lasted for 1:28, Hudson gained 54 yards and capped it off with an 8-yard rush for a touchdown. The Falcons came down and scored a touchdown to gain another lead and force a Redskins touchdown. With 18 seconds to go in the game, Hudson muscled in for a 6-yard rush to grab a 20-17 lead. The defense were able to hold Atlanta off and the Redskins advanced to their first conference championship since 1991.

I wouldn’t normally give an update like this, but this was particularly frustrating. I was playing the NFC Championship and it was a super tight game. So much so that we went to overtime to finish of the game. Unfortunately, I kid you not, as I broke free for the end zone with literally no other CPU in sight, my game froze. I sat there for 5 minutes hoping it would come back, but it didn’t. I was trying to get the game in before I had to leave for other obligations, so I won’t be able to make it up until later tonight (hopefully). Hopefully I can play similarly the next time I try and Sam Hudson can go to the Super Bowl in his first season as a Redskin. We’ll have to see.

Okay, so I was going to replay the NFC Championship, but I didn't know the game was saved, so that saves a LOT of time. I'll be able to finish it within the next couple minutes and I'm gonna try to play the Super Bowl, if I win, in a little bit. If I had known that the games save automatically, I wouldn't have been as upset

2017 NFC Championship: Washington Redskins (10-4-2) @ Minnesota Vikings (12-3-1)

Reaching their first conference championship since 1991, the Redskins look to reach their first Super Bowl since the same year by defeating the Vikings away from home.

After the Vikings were stopped on their opening drive, the Redskins were unable to get anything going on offense. The Vikings capitalized by scoring a field goal. The Redskins were stopped on their successive drive, but the Vikings were also stopped, giving Washington a chance to get a tie or a lead heading into the half. Led by Sam Hudson, the Redskins were able to march down and score a field goal to even the score at 3.

The Redskins were stopped on their first drive in the second half, which allowed the Vikings to grab the lead again with a field goal. The Redskins countered with a field goal of their own, before allowing Minnesota to get a touchdown for the lead. The Redskins were able to come back once again, as they scored a touchdown to end regulation.

In overtime, the Redskins had the ball first, but they were unable to get a score on the board. The Vikings would've won the game with any type of score, but they were stopped by the defense. Starting from the 9-yard line, Hudson was able to punch in the game-winning touchdown on 4th down from one yard out. The win in overtime gave the Redskins a shot to win the Super Bowl for the 4th time in franchise history.

Super Bowl LII: Washington Redskins (10-4-2) vs Baltimore Ravens (12-3-1)

In their 6th appearance in the Super Bowl in franchise history, the Washington Redskins return to Minneapolis to play for the second straight game in Minnesota, after defeating the Vikings in the NFC Championship. Washington looks to defeat in-state rival, the Baltimore Ravens, to lift their 4th Super Bowl.

On the first drive by the Ravens, Baltimore was able to score a touchdown to grab a lead early. Unfortunately for Sam Hudson, Robert Kelley was named the starter for the Redskins, which was a surprising decision by Jay Gruden, considering Hudson had started every single game leading up to that point and he had the 3rd most rushing yard in the NFL during the regular season. Regardless, the Redskins were able to tie the game after scoring a touchdown. After getting a stop, the Redskins were able to get a field goal to increase their lead. Unfortunately, the Ravens grabbed a touchdown to end the half.

To start off the second half, the Redskins were able to get a field goal, but the Ravens came back and scored a touchdown to increase their lead. Hudson was put back into the game to start the second half and he led the team down the field in the fourth quarter to score a touchdown. However, they were unable to convert the 2-point conversion to tie up the game. The Ravens were able to recover the onside kick and run out the clock to seal the game and win their 3rd Super Bowl in franchise history.

                    2018 Offseason

Sam Hudson decides to stay with the Washington Redskins for at least one more year

With Sam Hudson's future hanging in the air in Washington, head coach Jay Gruden has officially announced that Hudson will stay for another year. This piece of news comes after a report last week came out that Hudson was unhappy with the coaching staff for benching him to start off the Super Bowl. Hudson had said that he believed that the outcome would've been different had he started for the Redskins. "After thinking about it, I knew my reaction had been rash. We made it to the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl. We have a great team and I look forward to playing with them this season."

"I completely understood his frustration. He had a great first year in the league and it may be viewed by most that it was unfair of us to sit him out for most of the first half," said Gruden. "However, we had decided to start Robert [Kelley] because of his performance in the practices leading up to the game. We are glad that Sam has decided to stay with the franchise and we look forward to our future with him as our number one back."

Hudson had expressed his previous bitterness after the announcement that he would stay with Washington. "Of course I was angry. We lost. It stung," said Hudson. "I wasn't used to losing in big championship-type games." In his college years, Hudson led Rutgers to three straight Big Ten titles and two straight National Championships. "After I had cooled down, I realized that my reaction was rash. I mean, we made it to the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl. We have a great team and I can't wait to finish it off this season."

Despite the actions by Hudson, Gruden and the front office have decided against any consequences. "We know he's a great kid and he means well. He wants to win and we know he'll be able to better control his reactions when something like this happens again in his career.

                    ----------------------------

Le'Veon Bell joins the Redskins after disagreement in contract negotiations with the Steelers

After talks between Le'Veon Bell and the Steelers in terms of a contract renegotiation, Bell has joined the Redskins after receiving a better offer. "Le'Veon is a great running back and he has a great future ahead of him," said head coach Jay Gruden. "Along with Sam [Hudson], we are going to have a backfield to be reckoned with."

Even though Bell may be the more experienced back and the better back overall, Hudson still has the starting job. "Sam was amazing last year and he deserves the starting role until Le'Veon or someone else proves otherwise," said Gruden. "Le'Veon will still be getting consistent reps throughout games and we can't wait to utilize this one-two punch on the ground game."

In a rematch of the 2017 NFC Championship game, the Vikings look to come to Landover and get revenge against the Redskins.

After a turnover by the Vikings early, the Redskins were able to capitalize on the Vikings' error with a Sam Hudson 2-yard touchdown. The Vikings were stopped once again, which allowed Hudson to score on an explosive 21-yard run. The Redskins got the ball one more time before the end of the first half, but they just ran out the clock to avoid any mistakes.

In the second half, neither of the offenses were able to get anything going until the Vikings scored on their second drive. However, after a long drive by Washington, the Redskins were able to extend their lead after a 4-yard run on 3rd and goal by Hudson. The Redskins finished off the game with a field goal to end regulation, further spreading salt into the wound.

After a huge win against the Vikings, the undefeated Redskins look to defeat the winless Cowboys in Dallas to increase their lead in the NFC East.

On the first drive of the game, the Cowboys were able to score a touchdown. The Redskins responded on their first drive by scoring a touchdown of their own. Sam Hudson put a man in skates to finish the drive with a highlight-reel 24-yard rush. After a defensive stop, the Redskins were unable to get anything going. The Cowboys scored a touchdown on their next drive, but the Redskins kept it close by scoring a field goal to close out the half.

To start off the second half, the Redskins weren't able to put a score on the board. However, neither were the Cowboys, but the Redskins were stopped once again. After a huge win against the Jaguars, the Redskins look to continue their momentum off of the bye week.

After a stop by the defense, the Redskins were able to drive down the field and score a field goal to gain the lead. The Redskins were able to get the ball for a second time, after draining much of the clock, and Sam Hudson broke loose for a career-long 80-yard rush on the first play of the drive. Even with the big play, the Eagles were not deterred and scored a touchdown of their own on their next drive to end the field half.

On the first drive of the second half, the Redskins had to settle for a field goal, which allowed the Eagles to gain the lead when they scored a touchdown on their first drive. Unfortunately, the Redskins were unable to score, allowing the Eagles to win the game.

                              2018 Week 9: Washington Redskins (4-3) @ New York Giants (4-3)

After going on a 2-game losing streak, the Redskins look to get back to their winning ways with a win against divisional foe, the New York Giants.

After a stop against the Giants, the Redskins were able to put together a score, even though Washington got into the 5-yard line. However, the Redskins didn't make the same mistake twice, as they were able to put points on the board in the form of a field goal.

In the second half, the Redskins weren't able to put any points on the board on their first drive. The Giants were able to score a touchdown on their next drive, putting Washington in a hole. Sam Hudson gave the Redskins the lead after a 50-yard run for the end zone. After a touchdown scored by the Giants, Hudson was able to save Washington once again by scoring a 44-yard run. The Redskins defense was able to hold on and retain the win to increase their lead in the NFC East.
