It's not Henry's awareness that needs to go up but his speed. They just keep bumping up awareness, like it makes any difference.

His speed is a 90. That is high enough. His 40 time of 4.5 is right in line with 90 speed. Other RB’s with that same time range in speed from 88 to 91.

I doubt that’s why, shaquem Griffin only has one hand and he’s in the game on seattle

Go on nfl advanced stats and watch Derrick Henry be in the top 10 every week, multiple weeks he's been faster than tyreek hill, mecole hardman or the fastest players

He consistently ranks in the fastest players during the week whenever he breaks out a big run. He's faster on the field in pads than 90.

That isn’t close to being the most accurate way to rate speed though. Perfect example Henry had the fastest time In the league on a 75 yard run one week and topped Tyreke Hill’s speed on his catch play the same week. There is a ZERO percent chance Henry would ever beat Hill in a race pads or no pads. Fournette has topped the RB’s for on top speed plays multiple times since entering the league but nobody including Fournette is going to say he is the fastest RB in the NFL.

Numbers don't mean much to me - I'm just saying, if Henry breaks around the corner and has open field, he should be taking it to the house shy of some very fast DB making pursuit. Madden doesn't really capture his ability to fend off tacklers at full speed like he does but there are times where he flat out burns DBs in a foot race and I don't think that's captured in Madden. He should play faster in spots (when he can hit his top speed).

                      Thats a pursuit issue.
Low pursuit and they wont catch him.
                      High pursuit they well.
Perhaps also need more stamina and maybe acceleration.

After the roster update I noticed Eli Manning disappears from the roster and is replaced by Andrew Luck. So far it happens when the regular season start.

Probably - whatever dictates the top speed a player can reach and sustain I think is what he needs. In any case, bumps in AWR just seem to be done to artificially raise the OVR without really making him a better player (to control at least, unless raw OVR makes a difference).

Numbers mean everything lol. Again a 90 speed is not slow by any means. Him fending off tacklers at full speed has nothing to do with the speed rating. That would be break tackle rating. The other point you are describing would be the acceleration rating. He actually reminds me of Jamal Lewis in a sense in that way. Lewis and Henry have good speed but not great speed. The difference between them and a lot of guys though is that it doesn’t many steps at all to get to top speed. So a 90 speed with an acceleration of 95 would be a lot better than trying to put his speed on par with top flight speed guys.

They mean everything in Madden, I just don't fixate on them - I'm after outcomes (Henry outrunning DBs like in real life), not arbitrary numbers (I don't know if, say, 93 speed or 95 speed etc would achieve that outcome, so they don't mean anything to me in isolation).

I figured speed was the more relevant rating because he isn't that quick around traffic, and pulls away when running longer distances. If a guy is getting up there as the fastest players on the field in any given week on a semi regular basis, then I think he should be up there with the top flight speed guys when it comes to those long distance plays. He shouldn't hang with guys fast around the LOS or changing direction etc.
