Which editor are you using? Also it might be the Face ID that doesn't match the skin tone that is selected.

When I transferred a Madden 08 roster to 04 and 05 the skin tone was wrong but when I went back and fixed the skin tone the Face ID made the player look really weird since it didn't match the skin tone.
