    Cycloniac's 20-Minute NHL 20 Sliders

This set was the most difficult to create simply because NHL 20 is built for shorter periods. However, the developers have given us the tools to create a real-time, authentic set of sliders.
If you are used to the default, tape-to-tape style of NHL 20, this set will be much different. It is sloppier and the number of high-danger scoring chances is significantly fewer. You will see neutral zone play, board play, and battles for every loose puck. I am happy with my other sets, but this set is even more hardcore and realistic because of how much more variety you can see in games. If you want the most challenging, in-depth experience, this is the set for you.

    Fatigue Effect : CPU: 75 / Human: 75
    Fatigue Recovery : CPU: 55 / Human: 55
Shifts will be between 40 and 60 seconds, just like real life. There is a significant statistical dropoff in hockey when players are fatigued. If you get hemmed into your own zone with tired players, you will pay the price. Manage your line changes carefully.
Here is some good reading on shift lengths:
Hockey is a highly intense sport often called the fastest game in the world. If you have ever watched or played in a hockey game you will know there is a lot of truth to it. Players are asked to go…

    Injury Occurrence : CPU: 40 / Human: 40
Raise this slider to 100 when simming in franchise for more realistic injury rates

    SKATING
All of the skating sliders work in conjunction with the game speed slider, passing sliders and fatigue sliders to represent the pace and flow of the game.

    Back Skating: 50
    Hustle Type : Authentic
    Puck Carrier Agility : 40
    Puck Carrier Skating: 0
    Player Acceleration : CPU: 50 / Human: 50

    Slap Shot Accuracy : CPU: 35 / Human: 35
    Slap Shot Power : CPU: 45 / Human: 45
    PASSING
The most noticeable change you may notice is in this area of the game. You will see fewer cleanly received passes. You will see hard passes get tipped and glance away more often. As a result, there are more battles for the puck, more mistakes and more broken plays.
    Manual Passing - OFF

    Min Pass Speed: 25
    Max Pass Speed: Max
    Saucer Pass Speed : 50

    PUCK CONTROL
The puck is loose. That glued to the stick feeling simply isn’t there anymore. The best puck handlers will stand out more.
Incidental Contact Puck Loss : Stick , Legs and Body
Incidental Stick Contact Immunity : 0
    Puck Control : CPU: 50 / Human: 50
Deking Impact : CPU: Max / Human: Max

    Skating Impact : CPU: 80 / Human: 80

    CHECKING
Holding onto the puck for extended periods of time is difficult. In conjunction with the passing and puck control sliders, these allow puck battles to really play out. Setting up in the zone should be a challenge.

Hey Cyc..look forward to trying these as I prefer 20 min periods if you can get realistic results. Are you getting realistic shot totals?

Yes, so far I am! It was no easy task.

In the past couple of games I've played, I've had shots 35 shots, and my opponent has had 35 and 22 shots.

I also made sure other counting stats are within realistic ranges, but I'm keeping an eye on it.

I have been in the market for 20 min sliders for years now. Much of what you got is what I have been setting my sliders to as well. I'm going to try yours and see where I'm going wrong with mine.

I think the single most important slider may be attribute effects. I've been testing these for a few weeks, and nothing I was doing (with AE at 5) could get shot totals down.

I think increasing that slider alone is key for a 20 minute set. In shorter period sets, having AE at 5 is fine, but I think the AE slider actually causes the other attribute effect modifers to have a greater effect.

Any problems with game freezing? I put in new settings and now game freezes shortly after face-off. Happens in franchise and in play now.

Uodate: Cyc.. Just switched back to your non 20 min settings and no freeze.

Weird, I've never experienced a freeze

Which system are you playing on?

I have had the same issue since I applied the settings. I'm on PS4.

Really? I'm also on PS4. Can you tell me a bit more about what's happening? How did you input the sliders?

I haven't experienced a freeze with any game in the NHL series in several years

Likewise, I have never experienced a freeze like this.

I input the sliders as you labeled them. I kept certain settings like shot aim and line change to manual (due to preference). Everything else was exactly as you put them.

Games starts, teams skate around for a bit and as soon as I pick up the puck, FREEZE! It happens every time I pick up the puck. Each game (5 attempted games) I have lost the faceoff, the opposing team has had the possession with no freezes.

I switched to other sliders I have stored and they didn't freeze.

Did you create the sliders from a previous set you were using, or did you start with the Full Sim preset?

Okay, they were from a previous set I had. I'll go ahead and reset everything to full sim and then input from there. I'll let you know what comes of it.

I am currently troubleshooting and it appears it is in the passing section. Will update soon with a fix.

Min Passing has to have a value of 1 or more. At zero, the game is freezing.

I lowered max pass speed to 65, which seems to have fixed the freezing issue.

Max pass speed can't be higher than saucer pass speed, silly me.
