I'll answer both your questions at once.
1. Because Madden, for whatever reason is weird. You notice anytime you do anything, your profile saves
It's been noticed that if just keep playing games without that slider reset inside Franchise, games start to get weird and super easy. But when you do it after ever game, it plays consistent with the slider set.
2. Sure you could. But, instead of spending all that time initially. You could just do it when you play those teams, it doesn't affect sim stats at all. Just how the qb acts playing you.
