DUCKS LAND 2 MORE HIGHLY TOUTED CALI RECRUITS

Oregon kicked off the early season recruiting land #1 Overall Recruit Charles Mason from Garden Grove CA.

Now after 11 weeks, the Ducks have secured commitments from 2 more Cali Recruits.

5* WR Sean Edmonds (#3 WR/#10 Overall) from Hollywood CA is no stranger to the big stage as he looks to follow in the footsteps of 1000 yd WR's in the likes of M. Justice, Jamar Davis, Robby Dawson and Jason Hackett.

4* CB Tom Huggins (#3 CB/#71 Overall) is from Danville CA. Llisted at 6'0 205lbs, Huggins will most likely be a Day 1 starter for the Ducks with Oregon's Top-3 CB on the depth chart at set to graduate.

Joining Mason/Edmonds/Huggins in making their early commitment to the Ducks giving Oregon the current #17 Overall Class is 6-3* Prospects.

K-Kyle Cox (#3 K) from Manitou Springs CO (will replace Washington)
FS Matt Moss (#30 FS) from Chattanooga TN (depth)
CB Derick Ware (#77 CB) from Weatherford TX (JC transfer who could start)
DE Corey Owens (#60 DE) from Hillsboro TX (depth)
FB George Vaughn (#2 FB) from Hayesville OR (will redshirt and then become 4 year starter)

WITH 9 PLAYERS SIGNED, COACH VADER WILL MOST LIKELY LOOK TO LAND ABOUT 5-6 MORE PLAYERS BEFORE THE START OF NEXT SEASON.

WEEK 11 AROUND THE NATION REPORT

      BCS RANKINGS

Oregon is just 1 of 3 teams left with a perfect record on the year as all 3 (9-0) teams sit atop the BCS Rankings at #1-3.

Notre Dame claims the #2 spot well Clemson claims the #3 spot.

Both teams have 1 game remaining vs Top-25 opponents as the Irish take on #20 USC in Week 14, well the Tigers face #21 South Carolina also in Week 14.

LSU is currently considered the best of the 1 loss team's as they are ranked #4 with a (9-1) record. The Tigers however must face #19 Ole Miss and #9 Arkansas before the season ends.

Georgia Tech is currently ranked #5 with a (8-1) record (they lost to Auburn (20-14). The Yellowjackets still have road games @ #12 Florida State and #10 Georgia.

TCU comes in at #6 with a (9-1) record winning 8 straight, but they must take on #8 Oklahoma (9-1) Oklahoma in Week 14 before most likely facing #7 (9-1) Texas in the Big 12 title game.

(8-2) Arkansas is #9 and like previously mentioned has #4 LSU in Week 14, well (7-3) Georgia is #10 with #12 Florida State and #7 Georgia Tech still at home before the season ends.

South Alabama is #11 with a (7-2) record. They should be able to run the table with their last 3 games so with all the top teams playing other top teams they could get sneaky and grab a At-Large bid with their 10-2 record most likely landing in the Top-5 by season end.

#14 Air Force was perfect through their first 8 games making it all the way up to the #4 spot in the rankings before losing to Utah State last week (31-14), as their national title dreams slipped away.

Syracuse has won 6 straight to improve to (8-1) jumping into the rankings at #25.

      HEISMAN

Former Duck Lance Baker continues to provide a Heisman type season at Oklahoma well positioning the Sooners for a a chance at a Big 12 title game and National Title game.

Baker has thrown for 2651 yds with 29 TD and just 2 INT this season well also rushing for 685 yds and 12 scores.

Like former Duck Drew Davis the man he backed up for for 2 years, Baker is currently the front runner for the Maxwell, Walter Camp, and Davey O'Brien Awards as well.

RS SO Booker Miller of Penn State is currently #2 in the voting. Miller in his first season as the starter has thrown for 2411 yds with 16 TD and 4 INT in the air well also rushing for 727 yds and 11 scores on the ground.

Georgia State's SO QB Kory Fowler is #3, well RS SR QB Daniel Murray (TCU) is #4.

RS JR HB Bryan Montgomery (Texas) is currently #5.

      RECRUITING

Michigan currently has the #1 Overall class with 4-5* and 5-4* Recruits signed. including HB Q. Gray, TE J. Meyers, WR C. Davis and SS K. Thomas

Navy is currently #2 Overall with 9-4* Recruits headlined by QB I. Anderson and HB J. Potts.

Notre Dame is currently #13 with 4-5* Recruits and 5-3* Recruits.. The Irish have signed 5* QB J. Bolen, 5* Athlete R. Bowling, and a pair of 5* MLB in J. Watson and B. Nolen.

*Interesting news #12 Florida State currently has the #112 rated class with just 3 players signed (1-4* 2-3*), Arizona State is currently ranked #122 with just 4 players signed (2-3*, 1-2*, 1-1*).

        BRONCOS/DUCKS BATTLE FOR PAC-12 TITLE!

Coach Vader came into the game 4-1 vs Boise State on a 4 game wining streak, including beat Coach Kellen Moore both times in their head to head matchup.

With the Pac-12 North Division on the line and the Ducks #1 ranking and possible chance at playing for a National Title, we expected both teams to come ready to play.

        GAME RECAP

Oregon jumped out to the 7-0 lead after 1 Quarter of play on a 1 yd run by Duck QB M. Pino.

Boise State would open up the 2nd Quarter driving down field in just 4 plays to get inside the red zone but the drive would stall as the Ducks force a C. Benson FG from 26 yds out. (7-3).

Oregon would add to their lead on a Pino to P. Dickson 1 yd TD pass to make it (14-3), but the Broncos would rally back as QB David Robinson connects with D. Blanco on a 58 yd bomb to make it (14-10) and then with 25 seconds to play, Benson would tack on a 31 yd FG to make it (14-13) at the half.

In the 3rd Quarter it was the Ducks having to settle for a FG as J. Washington drills one from 42 yds out to make it (17-13) but then it was all Boise.

The Broncos would score 3 TD's in the Quarter as Robinson destroy's the Duck secondary to give Boise State a (35-17) lead going into the 4th.

The Ducks DB's woke up in the 4th and managed to pick off Robinson twice inside the red zone stopping 2 scores from putting the game completely out of reach as QB1 M. Pino leads the comeback charge, hitting Robby Dawson for back to back scores (7 yd and 62 yds) to make it (35-30) with 1:33 to play.

Forced to attempt a onside kick, Oregon lines up with their National Title dreams slipping away.. The kick looked perfect as it wobbles and bounces it's way toward the Bronco's hands team, but SO WR T. White is ready as he pounces on the ball for the Bronco recovery.

Left with just 1 timeout, Oregon's only hope was a quick stop, but again the Broncos rally to answer the call as Taylor works his way through the line on a 3rd and 2 to pick up the much needed first down..

        FINAL SCORE BOISE STATE-35 OREGON-30

          BRONCOS CLINCH PAC-12 NORTH TITLE

After starting the year 0-2, some Bronco fans started to wonder if handing Coach Kellen Moore a 7 year extension was the best thing. But Coach Moore and company turned things around winning 10 straight including the upset win over Oregon in Week 12 as they secured the schools first ever Pac-12 division title and a chance to play for a Rose Bowl bid.

Boise State continued their 4 game winning streak over Oregon State defeating former BSU DC and now OSU HC Andy Avalos in Week 13 for a 2 straight year (38-19).

Then in a Week 14 matchup vs Independent UMass, the Broncos sent out their 9 Seniors playing their last game on "The Blue" as winners defeating the Minuteman (28-21), as QB David Robinson connects with JC transfer S. Brown on a 68 yd TD late in the 4th.

Robinson would finish the game with 350 yds passing and 3 TD.

Robinson is now 2nd in the nation in passing yards with 3691 with 37 TD and 11 INT. He is also 2nd on the team in rushing with 500 yds and 4 scores.

WITH THE WIN BOISE STATE IS NOW RANKED #8 IN THE BCS STANDINGS AND WILL PLAY #12 (10-2) USC IN THE PAC-12 TITLE GAME.

            DUCKS CLOSE OUT SEASON #5

With their National Title dreams pretty much dead in the water, the Ducks would rally to close out the season with 2 straight wins to finish (11-1) and #5 in the BCS Rankings going into Championship Week.

Pino would throw for 325 yds and 3 TD in the Ducks (48-14) win over Washigton in Week 13.

Then in Week 14 vs Oregon State in the Civil War game it was backup QB D. Outlaw playing the hero role. The RS JR ented the game having attempted just 15 pass's all year and in his career, but after QB1 Mike Pino was forced to leave the game early in the 1st Quarter, it was Outlaw who would complete 20/30 pass's for 361 yds with 3 TD and 1 INT to lead the Ducks to a (35-28) victory over the Beavers.

SR WR Robby Dawson was named MVP as he finished with 7 rec for 212 yds and 3 TD.

*Dawson is currently the front runner to win the 2024 "Bilentkoff Award" as he has set career high's in rec (75), yards (1365) and Touchdowns (20)*

OREGON WILL NOW BE LEFT TO WATCH CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK UNFOLD HOLDING ONTO A SLIM CHANCE OF MOVING UP TO #2 IN THE FINAL RANKINGS DESPITE NOT PLAYING

NATIONAL TITLE SPOTS ON THE LINE!!

#1 Clemson will put their perfect (12-0) record on the line in the ACC Championship game vs (7-5) Navy. The Midshipsman have won 4 straight ACC titles and the last 4 Sugar Bowls, but today I have a feeling their streak is over.

#2 Georgia Tech closed out the year winning 5 straight going 11-1 as they win the SEC East, as they put their National Title dreams on the line vs #4 Arkansas who wins the SEC West after beting LSU (27-24) in OT in Week 14.

For the LSU like Oregon the Tigers are left out watching as they drop to #6 in the polls. (Many bowl predictions have the Ducks and Tigers playing in the Sugar Bowl as the 2 At large bids, should Clemson and G.T. hold onto the top 2 spots in the poll)

QB Lance Baker and the #3 Oklahoma Sooners are headed to the Big 12 Championship to face #20 Texas after beating #9 TCU (49-26) in Week 14.

Texas comes into the game having lost their Week 14 matchup vs Texas Tech and former GSU OC Leon Pitts.

Former Oregon Duck QB and OC Dennis Dixon has lead the Penn State Nitty Lions to a division championship as they go (10-2) winning their last 6 games to earn the #11 spot in the rankings. PSU will face #13 Notre Dame who comes into the game having lost their Week 14 matchup vs USC (37-27).

The Broncos will squaring off against USC for just the 2nd time since joining the Pac-12. USC comes into the game riding a 3 game win streak including their Week 13 win over UCLA and Week 14 win over Notre Dame.

The Trojans have one of the best RB in the nation in B. Williams (1741 yds 16 TD), making this a pass offense vs smash mouth offense matchup.

#10 (10-2) FIU will look to defeat (8-4) Troy in the Sun Belt Championship. The Trojans will be looking to win their 3rd straight conference title.

#18 (10-2) Air Force will look to win 2nd straight MWC and 3rd in the past 4 seasons as they take on (10-2) Hawaii who will be looking for their 1st ever Conference title.

#14 (11-1) Syracuse will take on (9-3) Cincinnati for the CUSA Title and spot in the Orange Bowl. The Orange come into the game riding a 9 game winning streak.

(9-3) USF will take on (8-4) Vanderbilt in the American Conference Title. USF lost the in the title game last year to Southern Miss who would go on to win the Orange Bowl. The Bulls are hoping for better results this year.

For Vandy this marks their 3rd time playing in the title game in the past 5 years having won in 2020 and 2021.

(9-3) Northern Illinois will take on (9-3) Bowling Green for the Mac Championship.

For Bowling Green this will be their first ever time playing in the MAC Champshionship since 1992 (in real life they won in 2013 and 2015 but not in this dynasty).

For Northern Illinois it's the Huskies first time back in the Champioship game since winning back to back titles in 2011 and 2012 before leaving for 5 years to play in the CUSA where they won the 2015 title before returning to the MAC where they havn't had a winning season since. (21-61 from 2017-2023)

                BRONCOS CLAIM PAC-12 TITLE!!

2024 started off on the wrong note for the Broncos as they go 0-2 in their first 2 games, but they won when it matter most, picking up the school's first ever Pac-12 title well securing a trip to the Rose Bowl.

Boise jumped out to a early (14-0)lead as David Robinson toss's 2 TD's (D. Blanco-14 yd and E. Green-7 yd), but the Trojans manage to score with 42 seconds to play on a A. Garcia 2 yd run to make it (14-7) as we head to the 2nd.

The Broncos would won the 2nd Quarter scoring 3 TD's well holding the Trojans to just 1 to take a (35-13) lead with less then 2 minutes to play in the half. BSU would add 3 more on a 20 yd FG with less then a minute to play as they go into the locker room up (38-13).

The 3rd Quarter was like a bad episode of the twilight zone however as David Robinson throws 3 INT and the Broncos fumble as well leading to 21 unanswered points by USC as they score 3 times on the ground to cut the lead to (38-34) as we head into the 4th.

Boise State looked to put the game out of reach as RB V. Taylor scores from on a 15 yd run to make it (45-34) with 2:18 to play, but USC answers back with their 1st score through the air as QB N. McClelland hits J. Haynes on a 33 yd bomb. The Trojans would go for 2 makint it (45-42) with 1:39 to play.

USC would line up for the onside kick but Boise State was ready as Blanco recovers the kick. USC still armed with 3 timeouts would force Robinson to the air on a 3rd and 6, but BSU doesn't just get the 1st down as WR M. Evans takes Robinson's pass 46 yds to the house to make it (52-42) with less then a minute to play.

Forced to go to the air, McClelland's pass is picked off by OLB J. Barnett.. Game over..

                FINAL SCORE #7 BOISE STATE-52 #12 USC-42

A rematch of the 2021 National Championship in which which Coach Vader's Ducks defeated LSU by (42-23), the Tigers were looking for revenge.

For Oregon, once again a 1 loss season ends their National Title dreams, 12 points different and who know the Ducks could have 4 straight N.C.'s.

                    GAME RECAP

It was a night of records and heartbreaks, for Coach Vader, QB Mike Pino, WR Jason Hackett and pretty much any Duck fan it was a game that they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Tied (7-7) after 1 Quarter of play, Oregon's offense (well really Jason Hackett) would explode in the 2nd Quarter as the Ducks score 4 times with all 4 scores coming at the hands of Pino and Hackett as Oregon takes a (35-10) lead into the half.

Both teams would find the endzone twice in the 3rd Quarter including Pino and Hackett's 5th hookup of the day giving both players a tie in the Oregon School Record books (Pino-6 TD in a game, Hackett-5 TD in a game) as Oregon keeps their commanding lead going into the final quarter of play (49-24).

But in the 4th Quarter things got crazy. Already with 6 TD's on the day and over 500 yds passing with a 25 point lead, Coach Vader continued to let his FR QB sling the football in the quest of putting up record breaking #'s. The plan completely backfired though as Pino throws 6 INT's which leads to 4 scores by the Tigers including the go ahead touchdown with under a minute to play (52-49).

Faced with needing a FG to force OT or a TD to win, Coach Vader rolled the dice and elected to go for the win as Pino goes to the air despite 6 straight INT's and Pino and Hackett would deliver as the duo each break the tie's for the records, as Pino hits Hackett for his 7th TD of the day (Hacketts 6th) with just 10 seconds left to take the (56-52) lead.

Duck fans started to rush the field, Gatorade was dumped on Coach Vader, Pino and Hackett were mobbed by their teammates... Finally after all the dust had settled both teams send out their special teams... An that's when it happened. For those watching at home who had turned off their tv or walked away to grab some more chicken wings. LSU did the impossible, as as SO RB Nathan Perkins takes the kick deep inside his endzone 103 yards for the game winning return..

The Ducks sideline would go silent... Coach Vader was left speechless. Pino and Hackett were shocked beyond belief. Did that really just happen. Yes Yes it did. They just lost the Sugar Bowl...

                    FINAL SCORE LSU-59 OREGON-56

                    KEY PLAYERS

                    TE S. Lamb-7 rec 44 yds 1 TD

**Note to the reader.. I played this game just before midnight. I have to be honest, in all my years of playing this game this is the most shocked I have been. Because of the ending the game was given the rank of my #1 ESPN Classic with a score of 1698. It was hard to process. There was so many times of joy and Pino helps Hackett leave Oregon as the Duck's best WR of all time well in the process putting his own name in the record book taking one away from Drew Davis, but then the ending just left me completely deflated. I know it's my fault. I should've never been throwing the ball. I had a huge lead, all I had to do is run out the clock or even throw it to Dawson or Dickson, but I wanted that record. Not just for me but for Hackett.**

BOISE STATE COMES OUT SMELLING LIKE ROSE'S

In Week 3 when the Broncos were 0-2 getting ready to play Wyoming, Coach Moore wrote the words Rose Bowl on the white board on the wall inside the Broncos locker room. He reminded the 60 guy's inside that room that day that their 2024 season was far from over. Just because they were 0-2 didn't mean their season was over. In fact it had just begun.. The team adopted a motto.. It said read. "Take each day and live it to the fullest. Don't look ahead and don't look back. Just stop and take time to smell the roses"

Tied (14-14) after the 1st Quarter of play, Boise State would take a (24-21) lead into the half as JR C. Benson nails a 49 yd FG.

The Broncos would extend the lead to (31-21) int the 3rd as PSU turns the ball over twice killing scoring opportunities.

The 4th Quarter was much the same for PSU as the Broncos "D" picks off Heisman winner Booker Miller twice leading to 2 more scores by BSU, as backup QB K. Johnson takes over for David Robinson completing 7/11 of his pass's for 82 yds and both scores. Boise State's C. Benson would add a 33 yd FG with 30 seconds to play to seal the victory giving Boise State their first ever Rose Bowl victory.

Despite coming in as the #2 team in the nation, Georgia Tech was picked by many to win this game. The Yellow Jackets winners of the 2022 National Title were making their 3rd trip to the title game in the past 6 years.

For Clemson it was the ending to a perfect season. 14-0.. Their best record in school history and their first undefeated season since 1981 when they went 12-0.

Georgia Tech took the lead early in the 4th Quarter as RB A. King scores his 3rd rushing TD of the day, but the Tigers score late in the 4th with under 2 minutes to play to win the game (28-24). King finished the day with 23 carries for 145 yds in the loss.

Once again Coach Deuce Vader and Kellen Moore go into the 2024 off-season as the 2 hottest names' in college football.

LSU's Greg Porter has decided to retire a the age of 70 after guiding the Tigers to the Sugar Bowl upset of the the Ducks. LSU would make calls to both coaches but K-Moore made it very clear he was staying with Boise State after signing a 7 year deal last season, and well Coach Vader also declined despite keeping his options open, after not signing a 4 year extension offer by Oregon.

With both coaches declining, LSU instead hires FAU HC Robert Skinner to a 5 year deal.

Texas was the next school looking after HC Brent Hamby retired at the age of 72, but the Longhorns didn't even waste a phone call to Coach Vader instead hiring former Long Horn Tom Thompson away from North Carolina.

Michigan was the next school to reach out to Vader, as longtime coach Dan Harris calls it quite at the age of 67 after posting a 8-5 record in his final season. The Wolverines have won 4 Big Ten titles from 2017 to 2023, but have never been able to make it to a N.C. coming up short finishing #3 in the polls in 2021, when Oregon took on LSU.

Again Coach Vader would listen to the pitch, but in the end decline as Michigan settles for their 2nd choice hiring John Lane away from Air Force after a 11-3 season and Mountain West Championship.

Air Force replaces Lane with FIU HC Ken Green, FIU then replaces Green with Steve Lewis who was OC for Clemson during their national championship.

Iowa fired Lance Ray after a 3-9 finish and was the next to call Coach Vader but after a quick no, the Hawkeyes settled for Clemson DC Ryan Dukes.

Leaving Coach Vader to decide between leaving Oregon or returning to the SEC to rebuild 3 potential programs, with Auburn, Florida and UCF all offering 6 year deals after all 3 finished 3-9.

At the end of the day after evaluating all 3 schools and rosters, Coach Vader has announced his decision as announces his decision to leave Oregon and take over rebuilding the Auburn Tigers.

The Tigers won the National Title back in 2010, but have fallen on tough times including just a 4-17 record the past 2 years.

                              Coach Vader
"It's a day full of emotions. It has been alot of fun at Oregon the past 6 years winning 2 more titles, and well I know that we have built a team that can and will compete for many more for the next 4 years, in the end I felt like it was my time to go."
With Vader announcing he was leaving Oregon, the Ducks turn to former Oregon Duck Chauncey Harris who lead Boston College to a 8-5 record last season. (Interesting hire because Harris only has a career record of 15-10, vs OC K. Owens who actually led Central Michigan to a National Title).

The B.C hire caused a trickle down effect which also hit Boise State as Boston College hires Boise State OC Robert Newsome. The Broncos then tabbed former Auburn HC J. Jensen as their OC.

                              Other noteable hires.
Florida hired USF HC C. Bush after being turned down by Vader and UCF hired Hawaii's Sam Carey.

Cal hired J. Willis from Northern Illinois and Arizona hired Colorado HC Chad Dockery to replace Jim Jones after a 2-10 season.

DUCKS LAND 4 PLAYERS IN 1ST ROUND

Most people expected WR's R. Dawson and Jason Hackett along with CB Sam Harrell to go in the 1st Round, but many very very surprised when backup FS Doug Johnson's name was called.

Oregon's PK James Washington was a 4th round pick, well backup TE B. Brown and P. Miller both were picked late in the 7th round, were they were joined by Boise State Broncos WR D. Blanco and DT W. Keenan.

COACH VADER MUST REPLACE 15 SENIORS INCLUDING 5 NFL PICKS

Coach Vader will need to make a splash in the late recruiting signing period as he looks to replace both the Tigers Top-2 WR's. D. Mobley led the team with 58 rec for 858 yds and 5 TD and was a 1st Round pick, well T. Weber (35 rec 461 yds 6 TD) was a 3rd round pick.
